Overview: The Commercial Pricing Strategist develops and implements pricing strategies and models based on business and financial objectives, market value, product life cycle, and the competitive landscape. The role involves collaborating with cross-
functional teams including sales, marketing, finance, product management, and operations to ensure that pricing strategies are aligned with company goals and market needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to understand the pricing landscape and identify opportunities for pricing optimization.
Collaborate with product management and sales teams to gather insights on customer needs and willingness to pay.
Develop and maintain pricing models that include various pricing structures and scenarios, ensuring they are based on sound financial principles and reflect market dynamics.
Work closely with finance and analytics teams to understand cost structures and profit margins to ensure that pricing strategies contribute to the overall financial health of the company.
Assess the impact of pricing decisions on sales volume, customer acquisition and retention, and profitability.
Provide pricing recommendations for new product launches, bundling strategies, and promotional offers.
Develop and maintain a pricing database to track historical pricing information and decisions.
Ensure compliance with pricing policies and regulations.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of pricing strategies, adjusting as needed to meet business objectives.
Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of pricing initiatives and provide training on pricing processes and tools when necessary.
Stay abreast of industry trends, economic indicators, and technological advancements that may impact pricing strategies.
Qualifications:
5 to 8 years of proven track record in developing and implementing successful pricing strategies
Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, sales teams, and senior management.
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives without formal authority
Deep understanding of market dynamics, customer segmentation, and value proposition articulation
Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and concepts
Bachelors degree in finance/credit or related area of study

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $170,000 and $200,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
