We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong background and experience in data privacy and AdTech to join our team to lead our data privacy program, and manage key advertising compliance work streams around CPRA, DSA, and other local regulatory frameworks. As the Senior Lead for Privacy within Samsung Ads Product and Engineering team, you will have opportunity to define the role and structure along which this new function will operate. Therefore, strong entrepreneurial nature with focus and a can do it attitude would be very valuable. The role will report into the Head of Product, and is based in our Mountain View, California headquarters or in New York, NY.
Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Manage the North America privacy org (currently 2 people and growing)
Drive compliance programs for CPRA, DSA, and other upcoming regulatory frameworks, and ensure that the products we build and how we operate our business is compliant with all applicable legislation
Help drive policy setting for both consumer focused policies and internal business policies to align on policies that both keep consumers’ data safe and help move our business forward
Work with cross-functional teams including engineering to drive execution of data privacy projects to completion. Collaborate with our Legal and Privacy teams to identify any legal and privacy issues for product functionality and upgrades. Conduct post mortem on privacy related incidents.
Manage messaging and training to ensure privacy compliance awareness internally both for Samsung Ads and other stakeholders.
Develop expertise on the various Samsung ads data systems and provide guidance on user data management from a retention and user rights to data access perspective. Define and maintain data flows for the Samsung Ads products.
Own and provide thought leadership for the data privacy function for Samsung Ads. This includes setting direction along with the legal and privacy teams and coordinating with Samsung Ads marketing and PR on our POV.
Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications

14+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or 12 years and a Master’s degree, or a PhD with 9 years of experience.
A proven track record of dealing with data protection and privacy issues globally.
5+ years working specifically on the intersection of privacy and adtech.
Demonstrated analytical experience, including experience assessing risk from a privacy and data protection perspective. Results oriented go-getter who does whatever it takes to get the job done on time.
Experience managing projects, including prioritizing and working alongside cross-functional teams.
Deep knowledge and experience with CPRA, GDPR, ePrivacy directive, as well as other global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant for digital advertising.
Ability to independently, quickly and accurately assess legal, practical and business risks in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments exceptional interpersonal skills and an absolute commitment to professionalism and collegiality.
Strategic thinker with excellent legal and business judgment and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working with a geo-distributed engineering team a plus.
Certifications such as CIPP, CIPT, and CIPM are a big plus.

Compensation for this role is expected to be between $250,000 and $320,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
