Associate Director, International Public Finance, Jakarta



International Public Finance is currently seeking an Associate Director based out of our Jakarta, Indonesia office.

Fitch Ratings’ International Public Finance group in Asia Pacific (IPF APAC) provides public and private ratings of public sector entities, subnationals, and their debt instruments in the Asia Pacific region, particularly in Indonesia, China, India, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. The department is split into two main sectors: Local and Regional Governments and Public Sector Entities, and the team’s output consists of annual credit rating reviews, new ratings and sector research reports which are published primarily through Fitch’s website.

We’ll Count on You To:

Have analytical responsibility for assigning credit ratings to entities and transactions within Indonesia and other Asia-Pacific countries within IPF’s coverage. Your strong career experience to date will enable you to identify key risk factors and relevant credit trends in these transactions in accordance with IPF’s published criteria.
Be responsible for writing and publishing comprehensive rating reports on individual issuers and participating in management meetings with rated entities.
Actively participate in credit rating committees for local governments and public sector entities in your allocated region and other countries, offering expert insight to support the organisation’s global leading standards for credit commentary and research.
Represent Fitch in external meetings and discuss relevant rating criteria and Fitch’s rating approach with bankers, issuers and investors. Additionally, you will have regular interaction with a range of fixed income market participants and the media, together with more senior analysts.


What You Need to Have:

You will already have gained solid experience for several years in an analytical role within a financial services firm, ideally within the public finance sector, although analysts with experience in other sectors will also be considered.
You will have excellent writing and communication skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, and excellent Excel and financial modelling skills to support your analysis, as well as a comprehensive understanding of complex capital structures and financial documentation.
Degree educated, ideally within Finance or Public Sector / Economics.
Fluency in business English and Bahasa is required.
Proficient knowledge of standard business software.
