Background & Purpose of the Job

Our finance professionals are aligned with Unilever’s key business processes and serve as strategic partners to bring an understanding of Finance, value creation and business drivers. They make recommendations and influence decisions that maximize value for the organization. They build and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional partners to develop annual financial plans and ongoing forecasts for departmental expenses and headcounts.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

The Associate Finance Manager (AFM) will join our Controllers team aligned with our key business processes where they will play an integral role on cross-functional teams, to set our direction and optimize our business performance. The AFM serves as a full business partner to their team, bringing an understanding of Finance, value creation and business drivers.
Responsible for Pension & Benefits accounting.

Display stewardship and ensure that the business attains the goals without compromising on the control environment.

Viewed as a process expertise and provide guidance as required to the rest of the organization.

Analyze financial results and key trends, assess current and future business risks, and communicate results to leadership.

Work Closely with various global teams including 3rd party service providers on delivering the common Unilever shared agenda.

Implement process improvement actions in assigned areas in line with development of procedures for required duties.

Build and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional business partners.

Involvement with special projects as and when they arise.

Contribute to our culture of being collaborative, respectful, transparent, ethical, and efficient.

Provide oversight agreed upon with senior management to ensure that the appropriate controls include checks and balances are in place to ensure that the risk of waste, theft and fraud is minimized.

Follow up with departments accordingly for any reconciling issues or discrepancies noted.

Liaise with external accountants and auditors as necessary or required.

Other activities included share based compensation: execution, control and reporting; monthly journal entries and monthly and quarterly financial reporting.

Analyze and interpret financial data by working in conjunction with accountants, auditors, and other finance professionals.

Analyze and make recommendations for procedure and process improvements within accounting department.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.

4+ years of relevant financial experience with a preferred experience in Audit, Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Financial Planning is preferred.

An enterprising and inquisitive nature that can find solutions to complex problems.

Experience creating Excel models and implementing process improvement solutions.

Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly communicate results and implications of analysis in both verbal and written forms.

Experience communicating effectively with all levels of leadership, and experience communicating with all levels of financial acumen.

Strong fundamental business technical skills (including strong Excel and PowerPoint skills) and software applications (e.g. SAP).

Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $83,200 to $124,700. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
