About Cognizant’s Life Science Manufacturing Practice:

Cognizant Life Sciences Manufacturing, inclusive of Zenith Technologies and TQS Integration, provides end-to-end digital transformation solutions to the Life Sciences industry to support clients Manufacturing 4.0 initiatives and improve patient outcomes. We specialize in the support and delivery of Automation, MES, Data Infrastructure & Intelligence, Digital Lab transformation, Lab Processes and Digital Technologies to manage, control and optimize manufacturing. Cognizant is a single trusted partner for Life Sciences governance across all IT, OT systems, from conception to completion.

Role:

Cognizant seeks to hire Automation Engineer to join our Life Science Manufacturing Practice to work with clients to understand their business objectives and translate them into technical requirements, suggest/evaluate system architecture options and produce/review specification.

Location: Lansdale, PA

Roles and responsibilities:

• Design, program, and configure DeltaV systems, PLCs, SCADA and related software.

• Provide technical support to customers, engineers, and other stakeholders.

• Develop technical documents, including design specification, user manuals, and operational procedures.

• Develop and implement automation strategies for industrial process control systems.

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade existing control systems.

• Participate in project management and project coordination.

• Monitor and analyze system performance.

• Ensure regulatory compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards.

• Utilize best practices, standards and procedures related to automation systems.

• Maintain and update knowledge of evolving automation technologies.

• Work in a shift rotation that operates in 24x7x365

Required Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical, Electrical, Computer Science or Bio-Process Engineering, or related field



Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years relevant automation life science manufacturing experience

• Strong knowledge of Incident management, Service request management, Problem management, and Change management processes.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, documentation, presentation, and computer skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and collaborate with management, technical support personnel, and equipment vendors.

• Experience in executing IQ (Installation Qualification) and OQ (Operational Qualification) for Control Systems Development and Enhancements.

• Proficiency in system validation documentation development and ensuring compliance with system validation requirements.

• Ability to effectively manage and update system documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Proficient programming skills in various Control Systems applications and HMIs.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
