Description:

• Researches, designs, plans, develops and / or evaluates new advanced cloud technologies by translating customer requirements or strategic business objectives into final product design.

• Work typically includes in-depth assessment of the customer's networked application needs, providing cloud modelling and simulation testing, consulting to further clarify needs, and engineering to deliver cloud solution.

• Designs, defines and implements integrated hardware / software systems requirements for customers and / or prepares studies and analyses existing systems.

• Determines system specifications, input / output processes and working parameters for hardware / software compatibility.

• Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system.

• Identifies, analyses and resolves programme support deficiencies.

• Develops and recommends corrective actions.

• Works with substantial discretion and uses specialist knowledge, analytical skills, judgment and broad conceptual and practical experience to solve complex problems and to contribute to process improvements.

• Transfers concepts for professional direction of own organisational unit into actionable measures.

• Provides working leadership and training to less experienced personnel.

• Independently develops concepts to set the professional direction of own organizational unit.

• Acts as a senior subject matter expert, typically at a global or regional level, in many organizational units the most senior internal expert who serves as best practice / quality resource and is an acknowledged authority both within and outside own organizational unit.

• Often leads functional teams or projects with considerable resource requirements, risk, and complexity, handles day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work.

Knowledge & Experience

Management experience / Achieved advanced skills and knowledge within a specific professional discipline involving the integration of theory and principles with organizational practices and precedents. Typically requires 10+ years relevant experience and/or a graduate equivalent (or higher) degree.

Experience in cloud/virtual technologies

* Experience with building, deploying and managing applications and software on PaaS

* Expertise with the RedHat OpenShift Container Platform and Expertise with Kubernetes

* Expertise in RedHat Linux administration

* Knowledge, skills and abilities to manage container image repositories in support of Linux Containers

* Knowledge, skills and abilities to deploy OpenShift Container Platform in both public and private cloud

* Knowledge, skills and abilities to automate application deployment via CI/CD Pipelines using industry best practices and open source software

* Knowledge, skills and abilities to automate the creation of Platform as a Services (PaaS) infrastructure using industry standard tools such as Ansible and Jenkins etc

* Knowledge and/or experience of any virtualization platform (vmware, kvm, virtual box)

* Expertise to check and apply critical patches in OpenShift/Kubernetes. Troubleshoot issues in OpenShift Clusters. Manage OpenShift Management Components and Tenants

Good to have: Knowledge on other cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google.
