Overview

TRC is seeking an experienced and approachable project manager with direct commercial energy efficiency program implementation experience to join our team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and outgoing with an eye for detail and the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams assuring timely project deliverables and client satisfaction. Playing a key role in client relations, this candidate will be able to provide support for both short- and long-term program forecasting, monthly invoicing, and pipeline management.

We are seeking team members with commercial utility program implementation experience who are passionate about decarbonization and achieving California’s aggressive greenhouse reduction goals. The desire to build and maintain solid relationships with key stakeholders focused on improving the built environment will be crucial to success in this position.

The individual in this role must have enthusiasm for energy efficiency, decarbonization, and providing only the best service for our clients and their customers.

Salary for this role will be commensurate with experience level.


Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES: As a member of TRC’s Advanced Energy team, your responsibilities will include:

Program point of contact and client management
Program documentation development and management
Contract/budget management
Subcontractor management
Project documentation review
Researching and analyzing data to identify specific trends
Regular communication with field staff, operations, marketing, and technical teams
Support reporting and invoicing requirements
Project management for specialized incentive program types
Working with internal operations and project coordination staff to populate CRM database with accurate project forecasting, market knowledge, customer information, and project documentation



Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS: Candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in utility program implementation
Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a passion for decarbonization
Experience managing utility sponsored energy efficiency, and/or decarbonization, incentive programs
Experience managing sub-contractors or third-party vendors
Experience interrupting and following contracts effectively
Analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively present ideas and concepts to diverse groups of stakeholders both large and small
Ability to work effectively in teams
Strong organizational skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Customer service focus, prompt, and ethical
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Ability to prioritize competing deadline and deliverables
​ Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word with the ability to learn to use proprietary customer relationships management (CRM) systems


DESIRED SKILLS:

6+ years proven experience in account management, and/or project management, with utility or energy contracting firms preferred.
2+ years of incentive program management
Experience with pay-for-performance program management
Experience with commercial utility programs
An understanding of mechanical systems in commercial buildings
Experience with any of the following: electric vehicle charging, building electrification, automated demand response, and/or distributed energy.
Experience conducting and/or supporting client presentations
Experience developing scopes of work, budget buildups, and/or proposal content
