Director – Ratings Performance Analytics (RPA) Team

Fitch RPA Team is currently seeking a Director based out of our New York, Chicago, or Toronto office.



The Ratings Performance Analytics (RPA) team is part of the Criteria Review and Approval Group which reports to the Chief Risk Officer. The core objective of the department is to ensure the quality, transparency and consistency of Fitch’s credit rating criteria and models.



The RPA team focuses on producing transition and default studies and other indicators of ratings performance for external publication, support of the criteria review process, and inclusion in key regulatory filings. RPA works closely with Fitch’s Criteria Officers and the teams at Fitch that ensure our ongoing compliance with global regulations.



What We Offer:

As a senior member of the RPA team (at the Director level), you will have the opportunity to review and analyze historical ratings data across all sectors such as ABS, CMBS, Covered Bonds, RMBS, Structured Credit, corporates, financial institutions, insurance, sovereigns, etc.
You will also have the opportunity to engage with a broad range of market participants who use Fitch’s transition and default studies and discuss Fitch’s historical ratings data as well as recent rating performance related publications.
We’ll Count on You To:

You will be working with senior analysts/group heads to produce external publications for all asset classes.
You will be responsible for producing ratings analytics reports which are crucial to Fitch’s periodic filings with key regulatory entities around the world (U.S. SEC, ESMA, FCA, MAS, CNBV etc.).
What You Need to Have:

5yrs experience in credit rating analysis, quantitative, or financial field.
Master-level degree in relevant academic field (economics, finance, etc.) required, advanced accreditation such as CFA or Certificate in Quantitative Finance a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
Python, VBA and SQL programming knowledge preferred.
Experience working with relational/non-relational databases and understanding of storage technologies (Oracle, MySQL, Teradata) a plus.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Self-motivated with ability to manage timelines across multiple projects.
What Would Make You Stand Out:

Knowledge/experience in finance/accounting, economics or capital markets preferred.
Previous publication experience preferred.

FOR NEW YORK AND CALIFORNIA ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $115,000 and $175,000. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
