Description:

Product Owner – BMI CRIR Data

The Fitch Group Chief Data Office (CDO) team is seeking a Product Owner – BMI CRIR Data to join us in either New York or London. We’re looking for a strategic, delivery-focused individual to support the development of a modern data architecture for our BMI Country Risk and Industry Research (CRIR) data.

In this role, you’ll report to the BMI CRIR Tribe Lead and partner with business leads and commercial product owners to address stakeholder challenges. You will work with an agile team to build the targeted solutions that will provide the biggest improvements in experience and return on investment, based on a deep understanding of how all parts of the business interact with BMI data. You’ll help us to integrate the latest technology to modernize our data management over time.

You’re a great fit if you can see the big picture to define a long-term plan – and break that work into small, prioritized chunks that allow you and your team to demonstrate incremental value. Strong relationship-building and communication skills are a must, as you’ll work directly with stakeholders to articulate the value of our data and the needs of various internal and external users, gather and provide feedback at critical points, and own responsibility for multiple milestones and deliverables.

We’ll Count on You To:

Own, champion, and advocate for the BMI CRIR data product
Work hand-in-hand with stakeholders to understand their challenges, opportunities, and priorities and factor them into strategic planning
Possess subject-matter-expertise on the end-to-end BMI data process and how it relies on multiple teams and connection points to connect and realize value from raw data to customer
Provide updates to senior Fitch management at quarterly business reviews and incremental updates to other stakeholders on roadmap progress
Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives and daily scrum meetings
Work closely with squad to define and align sprint goals and provide timely feedback to their questions to ensure that goals are met
Closely collaborate with other data product owners within the CDO organization to ensure alignment with the overarching CDO strategic vision and direction
Collaborate with other Product Owners to help identify and manage any cross squad/tribe dependencies

What You Need to Have:

Proven track record in data management and delivery
Considerable relevant experience with economic data sourcing and manipulation
Demonstrable history of capturing requirements and delivering multi-strand initiatives, and the skills to balance strategic needs while focusing on the customer
Flexible mindset with an ability to adapt quickly to changes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with and influencing stakeholders at all levels, including executive management
Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written skills
Self-driven, confident and able to work at pace, to make decisions and eliminate defects
Bachelor’s required

What Would Make You Stand Out:

Economic data forecasting or modelling experience a plus
Understanding of the existing BMI data set
Experience working with Agile development teams, utilising tools such as JIRA and Confluence
Product development experience
