Job Summary: DBA coordinates with the Application, Development Team, and Infrastructure team for system projects and to ensure optimal performance and minimal database issues. Responsible for DB optimization, responding and resolving to incidents related to MySQL (standalone and HA), Redis, Amazon RDS and Aurora, DynamoDB, and PostgreSQL, with a focus on creating, monitoring, managing, planning, cost saving on Database availability and space usage, system performance/optimization, and capacity needs.
Role and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Create AWS Databases, like MySQL (standalone and HA), Redis, Amazon RDS and Aurora, DynamoDB, and PostgreSQL.
Develop processes for optimizing database security.
Set and maintain database standards.
Handle database configuration, user management, tuning, maintenance, stored procedures, and implementation.
Upgrade, and manage database services.
Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
Create automation for repeating database tasks.
Do Linux Scripting, Terraform, and Git and understand AWS Networking
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering; Master’s degree a plus.
Has experience with Relational Databases (MySQL (standalone and HA), Redis, Amazon RDS and Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift and PostgreSQL)
Knows how to provision, manage, maintain databases and cloud resources as well as promote automation for deployment and operations.
Must possess a working knowledge of AWS technologies such as EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, AWS DMS, etc.
Preferably with AWS experience and/or certificate
Knows Linux and Bash Scripting
Working knowledge with DevOps skills such as Git, Continuous Integration/Deployment, Jenkins
Working knowledge with monitoring using DataDog
