JOB PURPOSE
To contribute to the sustainable graduation processes of the targeted ultra-poor persons with disability of respective region through Intensive Rehabilitative Assessment (IRA) as well planning and implementing therapeutic intervention for the persons with disabilities based on the assessment, enhancing their enterprise related skills, life skills and self-esteem as well as ensuring access of people with disabilities to different services through proper referrals and providing capacity development and technical support to the frontline staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify a persons with disabilities, conduct rehabilitation assessment and provide comprehensive rehabilitation services (functional rehabilitation therapy, caregiver training on home-based rehabilitation) and ensure regular follow-up.
Work closely with Deputy Manager, Technical, psychosocial officer and other regional staffs for complete solution of the persons with disability.
Facilitate provision of assistive devices, accessibility, and further interventions for persons with disabilities in complicated situations.
Provide hands on coaching to the participants through home visit in order to build the enterprise related technical skills and enhance their soft skills and confidence to lift them from the extreme poverty level.
Case management support for persons with disabilities to participate in various livelihood activities, liaising with Senior Analyst-LNOB and field workers.
Collaborate with Organisation of Persons with disability (OPD) and UPG programme in mapping the relevant service providers, developing and implementing service mechanisms related to rehabilitation and other basic health services.
Contribute to indicator and quality of life tracking related to the progress of participants towards graduation, through monitoring and documenting practices of UPG programme and their staff.
Build capacity on Disability Inclusion among all field staffs.
Conduct participative staff capacity assessments for UPG programme and develop a capacity building plan on disability-inclusive ultra-poverty graduation model (identification, prevention, rehabilitation, inclusion)
Support to design/revision of training packages and facilitate training sessions on inclusive livelihood topics for UPG staff, community people and other stakeholders (face-to-face trainings, remote trainings, e-learnings, etc)
Coordination with UPG programme to ensure referral of people with disabilities to basic health centers and specialized service providers, promoting quality services that address needs, and ensure follow up of those referrals.
Collaborate and coordinate with the other technical, operational and support departments of BRAC’s mission, according to the needs.
Supporting inputs to all-inclusive livelihood reporting needs (including field reporting)
Contribute to the monthly/quarterly situation report by providing relevant information and data to the Senior Analysts.
Maintain and update participant files related to rehabilitation assessments, plans, case studies and progress updates.
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Proven assessment, planning and intervention skills
Practical skills on tools and task adaptation.

Good oral and written communication skills in Bengali and English.

Basic computer skills (MS office package- both in English and Bangla)
Clear understanding on rehabilitation, disability inclusion, disability and poverty dynamics, geographical and community contextual understanding, different cultural norms and behaviors etc.
Competent on independent individualized comprehensive intensive rehabilitation assessment, plan and intervention.
Hands on competency on proper selection of assistive devices, measurement and provision training.
Low-cost home modification, tools and task adaptation expertise in the community level households.
Facilitate the capacity building training session and referral
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy/Speech and Language Therapy or any other relevant discipline from any recognised university.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2 years of working experience in relevant field. Experience in extreme poverty and disability related programme will get the preferences.
