About the role

As a CBRE Client Consulting Director, you will oversee advisory services to a high-profile corporate real estate client.

This role is responsible for Advisory services performed for a specific client and is embedded with the client requiring you to be in the San Francisco office at least 50% of the time.

What you’ll do

Build and deliver complex, global real estate portfolio strategies for a high-profile enterprise account. Sponsor and drive implementation of key programs, projects, and initiatives for the planning organization.

Provide oversight for an integrated global planning team, including the Portfolio Strategy and Occupancy Planning functions.

Serve as a highly savvy student of the client’s business needs, practices, and industry trends.

Align client business direction and vision with strategic portfolio, property, and location planning. Lead portfolio optimization/consolidation/rationalization for all client properties and provide solutions as needed.

Serve as thought leader for client and CBRE teams by bringing relevant research and innovative practices for consideration. Present reports and studies on location, labor, and properties to executive management. Support major account pitches and strategic deliveries.

Lead strategic planning and metro plan development. Review key deliverables such as business cases, metro plans, and financial models for accuracy. Showcase high level of commercial and financial knowledge during strategy development and presentations.

Have an understanding of occupancy planning principles, models (i.e. neighborhood seating) and metrics, and how these support client business requirements.

Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.

Coordinate and lead the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.

Apply deep knowledge of multiple fields, broad industry knowledge, and commercial awareness. Drive financial and functional performance within fields and across business.

Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Negotiate with senior management, customers, and external parties of divergent interests to reach an agreement of strategic importance while being guided by the business segment and the organization's functional strategy.

Conceptualize new methods, techniques, processes, and standards across job fields or functions. Ensure CBRE best practices are implemented where possible

Serve as an escalation point for resolution of operational issues as needed.

Direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems by applying advanced critical thinking.


What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree preferred with 12-15 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention.

Ability to exchange sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and balance problems.

Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job field, multiple job subject areas, and department.

Experienced organizational skills with an outstanding inquisitive mentality.
