What You’ll Do

We're seeking a dynamic and experienced PR leader to spearhead our public relations efforts and elevate our brand reputation. You'll be a strategic storyteller, cultivating positive media relationships and managing a comprehensive communications approach that fuels brand awareness, drives key business objectives, and engages target audiences. As our PR leader, you'll be the voice of our brand, shaping and amplifying our narrative across traditional and digital channels. This position reports to the President of Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. and is based in San Jose, CA.

Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose, CA headquarters 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.

Develop and implement strategic PR plans:

Analyze industry trends and assess competitor communications landscapes.
Identify key messaging themes and craft compelling narratives to align with business goals.
Develop targeted campaigns for product launches, brand initiatives, and crisis situations.
Oversee PR budget allocation and optimize its use for maximum impact.
Partner with S. Korea HQ and lead U.S. based media communications.
Support and coordinate communications with US based business units and Samsung subsidiaries.
Manage PR agency.
Media Relations:

Build and cultivate strong relationships with US based journalists, editors, and influencers.
Secure positive media coverage in relevant US publications and channels.
Pitch newsworthy stories and facilitate interviews with company executives.
Monitor media coverage and proactively respond to inquiries or potential crises.
Manage relationship with Korean correspondents in Silicon Valley.
Coordinate media events (i.e. tours, briefings and interviews).
Monitor news stories and assess risk factors to the business
Establish and deliver press guidance to relevant teams and subsidiaries
Content Creation and Management:

Develop and manage engaging content for press releases, blog posts, social media, and other platforms.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, product) to ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels.
Oversee content creation and curation for events, presentations, and speaking engagements.
Leadership and Management:

Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of PR professionals.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the PR department.
Track and measure PR campaign performance, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
Build and maintain strong relationship with stakeholders in S. Korea headquarters, and local Marcom partner.
What You Bring

BS with 20 years of relevant experience in a senior PR leadership role preferably in the Semiconductor Industry or MS with 18 years of relevant experience preferred.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful PR campaigns that achieved measurable results.
Strong understanding of the current media landscape and the use of digital PR tools.
Excellent communication, writing, and storytelling skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Experience managing and motivating a team.
Proficiency in PR analytics and reporting.
Experience with crisis communications.

Individual pay rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location, as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education, and training.
