Job Description 1
The Director, Product Development will lead product development and the technology roadmap for PCC Fasteners Division.
Position Overview:
Oversees product development teams design, execution and operational sequencing of products from concept to customer delivery, meeting all "Go-To-Market" milestones while meeting safety, quality, profitability, and speed-to-market requirements.
Plays a vital role in managing relationships with customers, suppliers, vendors and PCC Fasteners technical teams.
Collaborates with customers, PCC Fasteners Sites and PCC Fasteners Sales team to develop innovative new product ideas and trends, working with Division President and VP of Sales to monitor and adapt annual strategic business plan and growth strategy.
Has overall responsibility for the planning and delivery across a broad set of projects, potentially for a PCC Fasteners Division product suite. This includes all aspects of the project, from initial planning to delivery of a finished product to the customer. initial customer delivery.
Manages engineering project teams associated with division projects, including recruiting and managing resources for the project, as well as coaching and mentoring members of the team to progress on their career paths.
Coordinates with key constituents outside of product development team including Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources, Operations, Engineering, Quality and customers.
Works with PCC Fasteners sites on identifying and deploying new technologies and strategies.
Responsibilities
Responsible for leading the technology and engineering teams in the product development.
Develop and drive the strategic technology roadmap for PCC Fasteners.
Manage all aspects of the product development lifecycle from strategy, planning, design, development, launch, and maturation
Identify and drive new opportunities for growth including new products, technologies, innovations, and partnerships
Analyze and recommend build vs buy vs partner strategies to drive profitable growth.
Provide leadership to ensure success in executing against vision, strategy, and plans.
Deliver to a technical roadmap that strengthens and grows PCC Fasteners’ profitable market share growth.
Develop appropriate processes and roadmaps including technology, hiring plans, training requirements, and staffing
Responsible for complete end-to-end project management including release planning, delivery, monitoring progress, and reporting
Drive consensus across multiple inputs to a common goal and make decisions.
Engage actively with global customers to establish partnerships, address issues, support implementations, communicate vision and direction, and engage in joint roadmap planning.
Build and grow highly skilled, cross-functional engineering teams across the globe
Communicate strategic technology direction and roadmap internally and externally
Support key, strategic customer engagements and adoption of new innovations
Foster a customer-first culture where customer success is at the center of all strategies and decisions
Responsible for leading, managing, developing, coaching, and mentoring a global team
Promote professional growth and learning for team members by facilitating access to training and conferences for technical talent across the division.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5+ years of Global leadership experience in product engineering, (Planning/Execution) and relevant industry (Manufacturing) – with proven track record of success. Fasteners experience highly preferred.
Overall 15+ years of experience in product development and engineering in a Global setting.
Demonstrable experience in Product development and delivery (preferably for Fasteners, Aerospace applications)
Bachelor Degree, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Highly Preferred
Experience managing budgets and forecasts with ability to make trade-offs according to priorities
Experience in design for manufacturing in machining environment
Strong communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal
Strong collaboration skills, driving many different people and departments to align to common goals and vision; ability to build consensus across disparate teams
Results driven; resourceful and able to manage shifting priorities
