What’s the role?
At Bloomberg Finance we are committed to providing world-class support to our business partners by providing insight on business performance, financial oversight and thought leadership. We are looking for a finance specialist to join our larger finance team supporting the Strategy & Corporate Development organization. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to deliver a blend of financial and operational analysis, financial modeling, reporting and senior management support to help develop clear, actionable strategic analyses and competitive differentiation plans and processes.
The Finance Specialist – Corporate Strategy will have strong interpersonal skills allowing him/her to cultivate key relationships with stakeholders, management, and external parties. This individual will have strong presentation skills. You must be a team player and dynamic leader that advances business interests, understands the financial consequences of major decisions; owns the process of gathering, analyzing, and reporting financial information; and generates recommendations targeted at improving revenues, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
We’ll trust you to:
Develop deep domain expertise across Bloomberg’s businesses, including understanding our products, our customers, the competitive landscape, and relevant industry trends
Use data and empirical analysis to help execute projects and to identify business opportunities, critical gaps, and strategic threats
Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to inform overall corporate strategy, help define strategic priorities and measure expected outcomes
Stay current on how our businesses are evolving, through regular meetings with a network of relevant industry stakeholders. Conduct research and perform competitor analyses to inform business strategy, opportunities, and threats, benchmarking against peers
Develop quantitative analyses and financial models to support our business investment decisions
Keep abreast of industry news, competitor development and M&A transactions and summarizing such information for senior leadership to inform strategic decisions
Perform valuations of businesses for both acquisition and investment purposes
Monitor investments for changes in valuation
Participate in the development of presentations for Senior Management, both on a regularly scheduled and ad hoc basis
Manage FP&A requirements in adherence to corporate requirements and processes
You’ll need to have:
7+ years of experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, private equity, corporate strategy for financial services companies or related fields
A BA/BS in Finance or related field
Ability to identify problems, understand the root cause, make recommendations and drive to a solution
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes of issues and projects
Team player who can work across multiple departments and levels within the company
Proficiency in valuation techniques and financial statement analysis
We’d love to see:
Master’s Degree in Accounting
Experience carrying out complex work with autonomy and make decisions within scope of responsibilities
High level of intellectual curiosity and the desire to learn
Strong leadership presence, change management and negotiation skills

Salary Range: 155,000 - 205,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
