Position Summary

The FP&A manager role will sit at the heart of the Marketing Finance team. We are a small team of 8 with the team split into two functions, FP&A and Ops. The FP&A team is made up of 3 people (Senior FP&A Manager, FP&A Manager (this role) and Commercial Finance Analyst). This role will work closely with the Commercial Finance Analyst and all members of the Marketing Ops team to ensure a smooth month end and forecasting process. This role will be suitable for an energetic person who’s not only motivated but also has great attention to detail.
Role and Responsibilities
Your Key Responsibilities:
This role is intended to manage marketing cost and to provide a high level of financial support, challenge & control for the UK Sales/Marketing/Retail /Finance teams.
Financial planning
Own Yearly planning & Monthly forecasting process for marketing expenditure
Ownership and further development of detailed excel-based financial forecasting model to support and drive efficient investment
Regular re-forecasting, budgeting and scenario modelling, and updating for historic performance and provision of analysis board and investor presentations
Challenge division to ensure that forecasts are robust, stretching and achievable.
Prepare analysis where necessary to highlight and analyse key drivers, assumptions and sensitivities behind the forecast.
Driving financial performance
Business partnering with sales/marketing/retail team to drive financial performance
Provide decision support and analytical difficulty for Marketing investment
Produce valuable reporting and analysis to support management and identify significant trends/issues
Work with other areas of the business to ensure all commercial elements of a deal are co-ordinated
Marketing spend process control
Own marketing expenditure process
Ensure sales/marketing teams align with promotional accrual processes and raise provisions using company systems
Own month-end process for marketing costs. Ensure costs are accurately recorded and correctly classified
Provide guidance on the accounting for marketing investment projects, acquiring technical advice from other areas of Finance where necessary and ensuring that transaction can be accurately supported by the company’s financial processes and systems
Reporting
Creation of ad-hoc analysis to drive performance as per the request from HQ, European Headquarters and Senior management
Other / Ad hoc support
Conduct internal and external audit/inspection requests when required
Support ad-hoc projects to drive cost efficiencies as required
What we need for this role
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
Relevant finance/business administration experience/qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc)
Prior experience of SAP
Experience of Consumer Electronics/IT sales environment
High Attention to detail
Highly organized
Ability to self-motivated and work on own initiative
Good communicator and relationship builder
Proactive approach
PC Literacy - able to use Excel, Word & Power point to an intermediate to advanced level to produce intricate reports and spreadsheets
