Description:

The successful applicant will work as a primary interface between Nokia and the EU institutions & agencies on green transition, eco-design, broader ESG policy files and digital skills. He/she will be supported by the global policy team and other relevant company experts. This position will represent Nokia before governmental bodies and work to develop and maintain relationships with key staff while preserving and growing the company’s reputation as a thought leader on the above issues. As part of the role, the individual will develop and file written comments and policy positions on associated consultations. He/she will also be responsible to represent Nokia in trade associations on green transition, eco-design, broader ESG policy files and digital skills.

The Head of Technology Policy and Regulatory Affairs will also be responsible to further develop relationships with the EU parliament. With a new EU parliament being elected in June 2024, establishing new relationships and advising the Policy and Government Affairs team on engagement strategies and advocacy plans will be essential. He/she will be responsible for setting up education plans for MEPs on digital matters affecting Nokia and our sector.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
A graduate education in public policy or EU politics is preferred.

At least 3-5 years of experience as an EU institution staffer or comparable position in the private sector.

A working knowledge of the EU institutions, especially the EU Parliament, is a plus as well as knowledge of ESG policies.
The role requires the ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a complex environment where flexibility and influencing skills are essential.
