This role contributes to improving health, safety and environment (HSE) performance, helping the organization to deliver a high performing culture through clear accountability and a skilled organization in the Motion NEMA Motors based in Flowery Branch, Georgia.

You will be responsible to ensure the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with all government regulations and company policies and procedures. Coordinates security and facilities program to ensure a safe environment consistent with regulatory, environmental and plant requirements.

Your responsibilities
Coordinates environmental program and performs tasks related to the safe handling and disposal of controlled and hazardous materials
Manages all air permits such as renewals, modifications, administration, compliance, stack testing and reporting
Monitors compliance with the environmental program through audits, inspections, spot checks and regular plant walk throughs
Develops and maintains an emergency response (contingency) plan. Coordinates and participates in any response actions following a spill or release of hazardous materials
Performs appropriate environmental tests and prepares reports to company officials and government agencies as required
Reviews conditions in the plant to ensure all proper concerns are addressed that may affect employee health, safety, comfort or productivity
Maintains (MSDS) Safety Data Sheet information and ensures equipment and supplies for emergency response are available and up to date
Reviews all MSDS (Material safety data sheet​) for emission and toxic impacts and obtains necessary regulatory approvals
Coordinates hazard communication program regarding MSDS maintenance, hazardous chemicals and other substances
Review and implement procedures for the procurement, receipt and distribution of regulated hazardous materials arriving at and departing from the facility
Conducts inspections and enforces adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals
Respond to emergencies involving hazardous incidents to aid in remediation efforts on site, as required
Investigate and submit written reports and recommendations on incidents involving environmental matters to determine how incidents might be prevented in the future
Reviews, evaluates and analyzes work environments and procedures to help control, eliminate and prevent injury
Instructs employees in matters related to environmental practices, occupational health, and safety. Coordinates or conducts employee training in accordance with OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) guidelines and all local, state or federal regulations
Your background
Bachelor's Degree with minimum 2 years experience OR Associate's Degree with minimum 4 years experience OR High School Diploma / GED with minimum 6 years experience.
Hazardous Materials Transportation Certification, Hazardous/Toxic Waste Management Certification, OSHA Certification, Lean Certification - Preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office including advanced Excel knowledge. SAP/BUS (Baldor Unified System) - Preferred
Must be able to read and comprehend rules and regulations and be able to convert information into procedures and presentations that are concise, applicable to the facility and interesting.

Work with others effectively to enlist cooperation and assistance in implementing regulatory requirements and improvements
Must be able to interact effectively with regulatory agency representatives and their designated contractors.
Organizing and coordinating schedules while analyzing and interpreting data.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
