Description:

As the IT Senior Manager for Manufacturing Operations Systems, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining an integrated, world-class IT eco-system that supports the business transformation initiatives across the Installation Products Division’s Manufacturing Operations. Throughout the transformation, you will drive standardization and ensure delivery of high-quality IT services by bringing significant focus on business value driven innovation and delivery as core competencies. As a senior IT leader supporting Installation Products, you will have the opportunity to work in a high-paced, international environment, solve complex problems, lead IT solution development within a critical transformation program and grow together with the rapidly developing business.

Your responsibilities
General: Ensure security is a key priority for all IT systems, driving timely patching and strong operational processes that protect the enterprise
Maintain standards that are aligned with global framework requirements to support Sarbanes Oxley compliance and key risk and security controls
Plan and deliver within the budget, establishing management controls (including effective financial forecasting) that ensure delivery of key objectives while maintaining operations. Drive to a “no surprises” culture
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, influencing their strategic product roadmaps to the benefit of ABB
Manage the validation and prioritization of incoming business demand in collaboration with relevant IT delivery organizations, ensuring key business needs are met within the agreed delivery timeframe
Collaborate with key stakeholders and users to maintain, develop and deploy cost effective IT solutions/services to drive desired business value and outcomes
Organization: Implement an effective team structure that optimizes the delivery capability and output of the IT team under your management
Develop and implement a resourcing strategy that delivers the most cost effective and appropriate mix of internal and external resources, optimizing the team to improve service, increase delivery and reduce costs
Recruit, motivate and develop a customer-focused IT team; establish a culture that embraces responsibility and accountability, values teamwork, encourages diversity and delivers performance-based outcomes
Solutions: Partner cross functionally to develop and communicate an IT strategy and roadmap that aligns with the ELIP Manufacturing Operations business strategies, including establishing buy-in from key stakeholders for strategic projects
Manage a suite of solutions within the relevant portfolio of applications, providing guidance and prioritization for solution delivery, architecture and technology selection
Act as a decision maker for local distinct technology and application architecture, collaborating regularly with global architects to shape corporate IT strategy and ensure alignment with global process and technology-based direction
Act as a thought leader; leverage technology trends and constantly refine the IT processes and methods to drive speed of deployments and cost effectiveness of IT for Electrification
Develop, enhance and implement solutions that improve Electrification’s ease of doing business to provide customers with a superior experience, delivering solutions on time and within budget
Provide technical guidance and leadership to shape the IT solutions under your management; ensure seamless integration with other solutions across the broader eco-system, through cooperation and collaboration
Optimize and secure maximum business benefit from implemented solutions
Define and manage to the Service Level Agreement(s) for all deployed services
Deliver and support initiatives that are aligned and agreed at a group level
Operational Efficiency and Effectiveness: Establish and implement a cost-effective IT delivery service, including all internal and outsourced services
Establish and enforce appropriate IT policies, processes and procedures, aligning with industry best practices where possible
Establish internal targets and programs that target continuous improvement of customer satisfaction levels for internal business partners and external customers
Stakeholder Management: Serve as the senior IT interface for the Installation Products Manufacturing Operations Management team, driving satisfaction with IT services by assessing expectations and driving targeted improvement plans where necessary to positively influencing relevant stakeholders’ perceptions of IT services and solutions
Build strong relationships with Installation Products Manufacturing Operations Management team, developing a detailed understanding of the issues, challenges and opportunities that they face
Manage relationships with senior stakeholders (internal to IT or within the business), driving effective communications for solution delivery or issues and managing expectations to ensure customer satisfaction goals are achieved
People Leadership and Development: Guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies, for the benefit of both ABB and the employee
Lead by example in the areas of inclusive behaviors and diversity
Build an environment of trust and collaboration across ABB and our external suppliers, modeling our core values at all times
Provide leadership, coaching and direction, creating goals and standards of performance according to established HR policies, guidelines and processes
Develop a detailed plan to facilitate cross-training of your IT team, implementing a sustainable model that ensures continuous knowledge exchange and competency development as the system landscape within the application portfolio evolves
Your background
Bachelors degree and 15+ years IT experience in technologies supporting manufacturing operations as well as 8+ years of supervisory experience or High school diploma and 20+ years IT experience in technologies supporting manufacturing operations and 10+ years of supervisory experience
Senior IT leadership experience, including demonstrated examples of management through influence and collaboration in complex, multi-site global environments
Significant experience successfully leading geographically dispersed and diverse teams, building a culture of responsibility and accountability
Proven performance as an information technology leader in a complex, global organization, where IT transformation efforts were successfully delivered which drove significant business value as well as improved IT performance, reliability, security and cost effectiveness
A senior leader who has repeatedly implemented technology solutions that solve critical business problems, delivering with exceptional quality, on-time and within the established budget. Specific experience with manufacturing execution systems and plant level ERPs a plus
Demonstrated ability to take a broad view of his/her position and take initiative to communicate, interact and cooperate with others
Highly motivated and entrepreneurial; hands on leader with a “can do” attitude who drives the same within his/her team
Excellent communication and facilitation skills that have been leveraged to drive change and successfully deliver significant IT programs. Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, technical and non-technical audiences, to convey complex IT information in a clear and concise fashion
Strong experience in project planning and execution as well as economic aspects of system management and life cycle
A delivery focused leader who has demonstrated the ability to establish technical direction, collaborate across global teams, and drive action through influence to deliver critical projects/programs while ensuring continuous operation
Previous experience establishing internal continuous improvement activities to drive efficiencies, manage/reduce costs, and improve service
Experience leveraging shared IT services, internal or external, to drive cost effective service delivery
Solid experience as a change leader, preferably with experience instituting new, global processes and tools
Proven ability working in a fast-paced, global environment
Ability to travel up to 25% (regional and global travel) and 50+% if not located in a designated core site
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
