We are looking for an ambitious Intern with 5G Air Interface Call Processing/ Systems Engineer Knowledge/experience to join our Wireless network team.

• Responsible for the development of product requirements, feature requirements, systems, and performance analysis, conducting deep-dive customer sessions, and new technology introduction of RAN features.

• Aid in product & and feature performance analysis, evaluation of new product & SW releases

• Translates and communicates complex technical design considerations between the Samsung sales team and carriers’ network business

• Works closely with various support organizations, logistics, and cross-functional teams from SEA and Samsung HQ to achieve successful new product roll-outs and developments.

• Ability to travel sporadically during the project.
Role and Responsibilities

Technical Skills Required for Internship:

Need an understanding of overall Wireless systems with an emphasis on PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, and PDCP layers
Knowledge of 5G and 4G air interface and call processing technologies and network architecture specifically focused on Radio Access Network
Understanding of HW as well as SW architecture
Good to have 4G/5G LTE Call Processing and in-depth knowledge of RRC, S1-MME, S1-U and X2 protocols
Good to have an understanding of concepts such as Hybrid Beamforming, Massive MIMO, New Waveforms, LTE-NR interworking & and co-existence, 5G Numerologies, etc.
Good to have: experience on system engineering projects to include one of the following: technical requirements identification, technical solutions to address requirements, technical description documentation with details including parameter optimization, performance analysis, test strategy creation, and problem troubleshooting.
Experience with ongoing 3GPP Rel-17/18 activities is beneficial
Experience with protocol analyzers, test tools such as XCAL, QXDM, Wireshark, Channel Emulator, Spectrum Analyzers, and Signal Generators is beneficial
Experience with SW development is beneficial

Bachelor’s Degree in EE/CS/Wireless communications with an Advanced degree preferably in wireless communications
Minimum of 1 to 2 years of wireless knowledge/experience
