Description:

CHS, Inc. has an exciting opportunity at our facility in Annawan, IL. We are looking for a Lab Technician. You will ensure products meet specifications as they are processed so our customers receive only the highest quality products. You must be detail oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, be safety conscious, and have a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities
Maintain a thorough understanding of all quality requirements for producing Ethanol/DDGs/WDGs/ICO.
Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices are being followed at all times.
Perform routine testing on inbound, in-process, and finished products in a timely manner.
Collaborate with plant leadership team to identify and make final decisions on product quality challenges.
Perform additional testing as needed. Participate in training opportunities to further product safety and quality knowledge.
Maintain clean and safe work area at all times.
Ability to work overtime or holidays if needed.
Maintain and promote a strong safety and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.
Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Utilize lab equipment (HPLC, IC, GC, Cell Counter, IR) and have the ability to troubleshoot instrument issues.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Qualifications
Bachelors degree preferred in Biology, Chemistry, Food Safety, or similar field
Prior experience in a Quality Assurance role in food production or agriculture
Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as averages, percentages, etc
High attention to detail
Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, and Word
