Description:

The Lead Investigator will work closely with Human Resources, MO, and Legal & Integrity, MO, as well as with other partners and stakeholders, including Division HR managers, to manage a wide range of mainly HR-related investigations / fact finding reviews of concerns reported to ABB’s business ethics helpline. Also, to manage portfolio of HR-related integrity cases, see matters to successful conclusion, through to disciplinary actions and remediation, including tracking and closing matters in ABB’s case management system.


Your responsibilities
End to end accountability including leading investigation of various Integrity matters for MO globally, under authorization of Head of Integrity, MO, with a focus on HR-related topics such as workplace harassment and improper behavior, discrimination, conflict of interests, T&E concerns, unauthorized disclosure of confidential or proprietary information. Lead investigative support can entail other investigation areas, including receipt of Confidential or Commercially Sensitive Information, unauthorized assignment of ABB resources, theft of company property or other self-enrichment, threats & violence and HSE matters
Principal case administrator for HR-related complaints, MO, plan and conduct investigations, including analysis of allegations and facts, collection and forensic analysis of emails and other data, transaction analysis and review, report writing, and other duties as deemed appropriate by the company
Prepare for and conduct often sensitive interviews of complainants, witnesses, victims and subjects with expertise, calmness, and objectivity
Undertake thorough analysis of root causes of failures / errors and make suggestions for recommended process and controls improvements and liaise with the relevant internal controls / HR or other functions to drive remediation efforts
Present the findings to the relevant management and / or committees to determine appropriate level of discipline and/or other corrective actions in conformity with local labor laws in various countries
Provide a high level of experience, expertise, guidance, and leadership relative to company-wide, multi-jurisdictional, often complex reviews, which may impact employees, business operations, and company reputation
Use ABB case management system to track, manage and close matters, including remediation or follow up actions
Provide guidance, support and expertise to HR and legal colleagues in relation to conducting investigations into HR or other investigative topics
Your background
Education: preferably a US degree in law / HR / audit such as LLB, LLM or equivalent
5+ years’ experience in handling ethics and integrity investigations / forensic reviews, ideally with a focus on HR-related matters in a multinational corporation, reputed legal firms or consulting firms and / or experience in white collar crime law enforcement
Knowledge and experience of eDiscovery processes / data collection, analysis, results and reporting
Good understanding of IT tools and especially MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Excellent communication skills, fluency in both written and verbal English is essential, additional languages a bonus
Good judgment and ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion
Strong work ethics
Experience in conducting interviews with the highest sense of professionalism
Self-starter and motivated individual to operate with minimal supervision in a dynamic and multicultural work environment and ability to multi-task with efficiency
