Description:

As a Local Trade Compliance Officer - Customs, you will drive International Trade Compliance through frequent trainings, stakeholders’ engagements, and management, monitoring & communicating regulatory changes and updates while implementing new and continuous improvement processes. This role supports the Customs and Trade functional area within ABB's Electrification Business Division and can work remotely in the US.

Group Logistics Manager

Your responsibilities
Provide governance and oversight to HTS classification, customs valuation, country of origin determination, duty reduction programs, broker management, PGA requirements, recordkeeping, etc.
Monitor regulatory and legislative changes within their operating unit to main regulator rigor and process change prior to implementation.
Identify Customs risks areas and develop actionable plans and procedures to mitigate those risks.
Implement strategic initiatives to improve efficiency, compliance and cost reduction.
Provide advice, counsel and training to key stakeholders regarding Customs compliance, regulations and laws.
Support efforts in resolving complex Customs inquiries.
Evaluate internal controls and drive implementation of recommended improvement plans.
Provide advice & trainings to stakeholders with responsibilities of HTS classifications of parts.
Your background
Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or related) with 5 years of experience in Trade Compliance with emphasis on import regulations.
Previous experience in building a team preferred.
Experience in the application of non-U.S. export control and sanctions regulations and the application of regulations administered by OFAC.
Experience in international business, contracts, supply chain, engineering, or relevant discipline.
Understanding the process surrounding assessing jurisdiction and classification of items.
Ability to collaborate among all levels of the ITC organization and business.
Self-starter who can develop effective networks with internal customers and external stakeholders.
Ability to travel up to 25% on occasion.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
