Bachelor’s degree in communications,…Serves as a key member of Farmer Mac’s Marketing and Communications team, with full accountability for the strategy, project management and implementation of communications and marketing programs for government affairs, finance, human resources, DE&I, ESG, and PR initiatives
Responsibilities also include strengthening the company’s brand and propelling our position as a thought-leader in these areas, which includes monitoring brand loyalty, reputation, and awareness across these customer channels
The position will report directly to the Vice President - Marketing and Corporate Communications and liaison with Marketing and Communications Specialists for implementation and project management
This position will also liaison directly with team members of these functional areas as well as with external stakeholders as necessary
Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time
Work outside of these times may be required for planned and unplanned activities for the purposes of completion of a time sensitive project or attendance at offsite meetings or events
Periodic travel also may be expected of this position to meet with internal and external stakeholders
Develop, monitor, and refine channel, content, and contact strategies for our government affairs, finance, human resources, DE&I and ESG initiatives
Help to develop, implement, execute, and measure strategic marketing and communications plans that support the Farmer Mac brand strategy, vision, and organizational goals within these channels
Ensure that all methods of marketing and communications are appropriately leveraged (including advertising, public relations, direct marketing, sponsor ships, social media, digital media, investor relations, and industry relations) to communicate with target audiences within assigned customer channels in a distinctive, relevant, and consistent manner
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned business segments for the conception, design, execution, and delivery of marketing communications materials, including brochures, fact sheets, sales slicks, case studies, white papers, speaking proposals, and other sales enablement tools
Regularly evaluate and report on the effectiveness of all marketing communications products, programs, and initiatives within mandate
Advise and collaborate with officers and senior management on appropriate messaging to external audiences, industry stakeholders and employees for diverse business situations by managing the development of their speeches, talking points, Q&As, background information, presentations, employee communications, and event support--resulting in better engagement with their audiences and clear alignment with corporate goals
Serve as a staff liaison for the company’s relationship with strategic partners and business associations relevant to assigned business area
Engages at all levels, e.g., participating on planning committees and exploring sponsorship and speaking opportunities and writing and submitting proposals, as well as, attending as a Farmer Mac representative
Work with the organization, as well as with outside vendors, including writers and graphic designers, to deliver marketing materials to internal and external customers within agreed-on business specifications and timelines
Work alongside the VP - Marketing and Corporate Communications on all public relations efforts including, but not limited to identifying and cultivating new media relationships, as well as maintaining existing ones; identifying media opportunities; pitching stories and ideas; promoting Farmer Mac publications and announcements
