Sr. Manufacturing Accountant
The Sr. Manufacturing Accountant ensures that financial controls for the manufacturing sites are in place and functioning effectively. He or she is the primary liaison between the plant managers and the corporate finance function
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and report production costs on a regular basis; alert management to variations in terms of actual costs versus budget.
• Perform production cost analyses on an ad-hoc basis for existing or new products and processes.
• Manage inventories of raw materials, work in progress, and finished products, including performing inventory counts, valuations, reporting, and calculation of reserves.
• Suggest changes to pricing or standard costs to maintain or increase profit margins.
• Develop costing estimates for use in budgeting and forecasting.
• Perform month end and quarterly closing activities in SAP, accountable for timely and accurate closing.
• Prepare SOX controls, and participate in internal and external audits.
Requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree is a required qualification for this position. An accounting degree is preferred.
• At least five years of exempt-level experience performing accounting and financial tasks at a chemical plant, refinery, or manufacturing are required.
• Three to five years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting would be a strong plus for this role.
• Advanced skills in SAP are required for success in this role, in particular proficiency with reporting, closing, and performing transactions. Experience with FICO reconciliation is preferred.
• Advanded Excel skills and a solid working knowledge of GAAP are an asset for this role.
• Proficiency using Anaplan or other corporate performance management software is preferred.
