We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to play a pivotal role in optimizing the day-to-day operations of our ultra-high-volume injection molding facility. As a collaborative leader within the technical team, you will leverage your expertise in injection molding, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other process improvement tools to drive operational excellence at our plant.
What you will need:
5+ years of experience in an Injection Molding Manufacturing Environment, with a focus on sophisticated manufacturing and automation equipment.
Associate's Degree in an Engineering Discipline or equivalent experience.
Experience with the hydraulic function of manufacturing equipment.
Experience with electrical/electronic components of manufacturing equipment.
Knowledge of PLC programming.
Expertise in mechanical design areas of machines.
What you will do:
Act as the local Subject Matter Expert (SME) on key technologies, including:
Husky HyCap Molding machines
Intravis Cap Inspection automation
Husky PET
Saipi Stretch Blow Molding and Illselman pack-out equipment
Plant utilities (UnaDyn Central Load system, Process Cooling chiller system, Nalco 24/7 process water chemistry control)
Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) Initiatives for the location, applying expertise in:
Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, Design of Experiments (DOE)
Coordinate the procurement of equipment and other essential items for manufacturing operations.
Acquire cost and lead times for parts and custom equipment from approved vendors, ensuring the continuity of production in our 24/7 Manufacturing Operation.
Lead and coordinate ongoing maintenance efforts, including retroactive and preventative maintenance.
Utilize the Company IQS database to establish machine records for each event.
Develop and maintain instructions/procedures for the safe operation and preventative maintenance of custom equipment.
Train on-site personnel in the efficient use of custom automation and contribute to the overall technical skill development of maintenance personnel.
Perform individual assignments as directed by management.
