Description:

Working within the Motion drives and motors service division and reporting to the service drives and motors operations manager, the field service specialist Will execute service work on medium and high voltage motors with low to medium complexity according to work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. Delivers quality service to satisfy all our customers. In close co-operation with customer and other ABB teams, takes action to identify new Service business opportunities for ABB.

Your responsibilities
Performs service task on medium and high voltage motors such as installation and commissioning of equipment and routine maintenance, identifies technical problems, conditioning monitoring and makes analysis through remote or on-site activity in different Service categories (installation and commissioning, routine maintenance, extensions, replacements etc.). Provides technical direction for overhaul, repair and maintenance of equipment consisting of: ABB large motors and generators for all sectors including power plant, oil, and gas, marine, mining pulp and paper etc. This will include providing technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements and quality standards of our factory.
Contributes to customer satisfaction by executing Service work according to customer order and expectation. Maintains a good relationship with customers. Identifies new sales opportunities and communicates them internally.
Coordinates, prepares and ensures that all materials, parts and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for Service activities.
Prepares all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative. Reports work done in a timely manner and follows up when needed.
Troubleshoots simple equipment failure and makes recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future.
Provides recommendations to management to improve operations and customer service.
Applies safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities. Reports unsafe practices and incidents.

Skill:

7-10 years experience of relevant technical experience and market knowledge Knowledge in medium and high voltage motors Electrical engineering or technical degree is preferred Strong customer focus and the ability to relate well to customer needs
strong interpersonal
leader-ship
and organizational skills. Must be able to work in a multi-disciplined service environment often under pressure filled condi-tions. Excellent communication skills including the ability to write reports and speak effectively before cus-tomers or employees. Great analytical skills- curious by nature Written and spoken in English. Located in British Columbia Valid passport and driver’s license
and to be able to work in the US if required.
