Job Responsibilities & Competencies
Analyzing production network security issues and resolve
Follow troubleshooting mechanisms and suggest corrective action
Work in follow the sun support model, ability to work on-call basis during off hours
Administering service requests and execute cloud network security changes
Own incident ticket resolution end-to-end and find a way to resolve or provide technical workarounds
Coordinates with other engineers to analyze the issue, capture new logs if required
Coordinate with cross technology technical team to resolve the incident
Track issues that are intermediate in nature until its closure working with multiple stakeholder
Identify the issues root cause and create root cause analyses.
Identify design related gaps that caused the incident and propose for preventive action
Work through problem management process to support technical implementation
Comply to change management process for change implementation
Engage public cloud provider technical support to troubleshoot the issue and escalate to get it resolved
Document network security design for various projects and deployment scenarios
Support deployment of network security design whenever required
Additional duties as required and possible remote implementation assistance on special projects
Escalate to very complex network issue to senior engineer for support
Handling ticket management and reports generation
Work across multiple teams to remediate all possible vulnerabilities identified
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Qualifications
Bachelors’ degree or engineering degree in Telecommunications/Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent
4 to 7 years’ experience as firewall administrator, deep knowledge of network security and experience in handling public cloud network security.
Hands on experience in handling FortiGate Firewall or equivalent in large enterprise environment
Hands on experience in working with proxy, IPS, application controls and antivirus.
Hands on experience in working with virtual firewall on public cloud in high availability
Hands on experience in working with load balancer at global scale
Strong knowledge in DNS solution, experience in handling cloud DNS and PaaS services
Experience in Azure, AWS cloud network would be added advantage
Experience in handling vulnerabilities management using Qualys tool
Ability to handle container security solutions, micro segmentation policies across all critical applications
Experience and understanding of Infrastructure as Code, automation, and orchestration
Good understanding on network technologies VRRP, DNS, ARP, Trunks, & Port Channeling, VRF, IPsec, TLS
Proficient in Standard Routing Protocols such as OSPF, BGP and Route Policy, QoS, VRRP, MPLS.
Experience in IPv6 routing architecture and deployment expertise
Strong knowledge on enterprise wired, wireless, WAN and SD-WAN
Optional knowledge in the areas operating systems such as Red Hat, Ubuntu would be a plus
Experience in handling firewall request management, validate rules for security compliance and implement changes access firewalls in compliance with security standards and best practices.
Analyze the latest security recommendations suggested by the vendor and create standards
A background in general security practices such as identity and access management (IAM), encryption, multi-factor authentication, SIEM and supporting technologies
Knowledge and experience across IT infrastructure with security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001 and other relevant security-related regulations
Previous experience of understanding and solving independently complex issues
Excellent time management and ability to handle concurrent tasks and with minimal supervision
Good oral and written communication skills, and ability to address conflict with others constructively
