Job Description

Broad outline of the Role

We are seeking a skilled Network Operations L2 professional with experience in mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and expertise in LAN technologies, Aruba network equipment, network management, and troubleshooting. This role involves maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting network problems to ensure the smooth operation of our mission-critical networks. The candidate will work closely with clients, OEMs, and the internal team to provide second and third-level support for network-related issues.

4 to 10 years of relevant experience in network operations and support.


Other knowledge/skills

Bachelor-s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
4 to 10 years of relevant experience in network operations and support.
Strong expertise in LAN technologies, Aruba network equipment, and network management protocols.
Experience with Cisco switches and wireless controllers.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and coordination abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a 24x7 mission-critical environment.
Relevant certifications such as Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) will be an added advantage.


Key Responsibilities

Network Equipment Management:

Install, configure, and troubleshoot a variety of Aruba equipment, including controllers, access points, switches, and wireless controllers.
Proficient in handling Aruba models such as 7240, 7210, 315, 515, 375, 305, 315, 205, 105, 203, AP11, 2930F, 3810M, 5406, 8320, and 8400.
Expertise in managing Aruba Mobility Master, ClearPass, and Airwave Network Management Systems (NMS).
Deployment and configuration of Cisco switches to contribute to a comprehensive network infrastructure.


Network Support:

Provide second and third-level support for mission-critical networks in a 24x7 operational environment.
Specialize in handling P1 tickets related to wireless networks and ClearPass for swift and effective resolution.
Collaborate with OEMs and clients to address network-related issues promptly.
Resolve high-priority incidents with strict adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Conduct root cause analyses for network outages and propose preventive solutions.
Generate weekly reports on network-related activities for management insights.


Team Coordination:

Assume the role of a shift lead, actively coordinating with the team to meet client requirements and SLAs.
Collaborate with the project team for the deployment of new devices, focusing on routers, switches, and firewalls, with a particular emphasis on Cisco ACI.
Actively participate in initiatives like the Cisco ACI Nexus Dash Board & Multi-Site Project.
Contribute to the successful migration of the Cisco Legacy Network to Cisco ACI.


Technical Expertise:

Proficient in LAN technologies, including Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), Virtual LANs (VLAN), and VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP).
In-depth knowledge of network management protocols such as Network Time Protocol (NTP), Access Control Lists (ACL), Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP), Virtual Switching Framework (VSF), Virtual Switching Extension (VSX), and Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP).
Well-versed in Telnet operations.
Demonstrated expertise in Aruba ClearPass and Aruba Airwave.
Deployment and configuration of DHCP services.
Conduct troubleshooting and implement configuration changes for routers and switches.
