This position supports the Operational Risk Management (ORM) function and the Corporate Risk Management (CRM) Leadership Team across a broad range of related business objectives and activities, providing operational support and governance to maintain best-in-class programs, resources, and services. The position reports directly to the Director of Operational Risk.
This position supports the global programs, initiatives, and workstreams of the ORM function and other key risk management stakeholders. Key responsibilities include coordinating budgetary and vendor management processes, driving ORM functional communications and knowledge management strategy, utilizing Business Intelligence in conjunction with the Risk, Data & Analytics (RD&A) Team to provide insights and recommendations that directly support ORM functional objectives in delivering location-based engineering solutions for the continued optimization of resources and services, analyzing and maintaining Network Production Resilience (NPR) processes, and ensuring that Associates have the information and tools necessary to deliver world-class business risk improvement and risk management performance.
What are we looking for?
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Business Management, Finance or equivalent.
Proven project management experience and expertise utilizing data analytics tools (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, Python, etc.) is desirable.
Familiarity with loss prevention and/or business continuity compliance management systems and standards is desirable.
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to build effective internal and external relationships and collaborations.
Ability to work remotely and travel up to 20% of the time where needed.
What will be your key responsibilities?
ORM Program Data Management and Analytics – Optimization & Governance
Coordinate key operational and data management workflow activities across the ORM function, including the Asset Conservation Management (ACM), Business Recovery Management (BRM), Integrated Governance (IGP) Programs.
Optimize business process for the collection of location information across the Mars business property portfolio, including engineering data, values collection, other location specific information as required.
Develop, implement, and maintain inhouse report and document repository.
Manage and maintain the consolidation of all associated ORM programs recommendations and corrective actions.
Support integration of broader global corrective actions processes and systems across multiple sources and business functions.
Be responsible for ORM programs key performance indicator management, quarterly analysis, commonality and insights reporting, annual stewardship reporting to support varying levels of management review.
Ensure data verification and other routine maintenance activities are completed for all associated ORM performance metrics and data. Identify exceptions, manage resolution, propose changes to the associated workflows.
Support the development of the Mars Location Hazard Management (LHM) workstream and the creation of an internal Mars Risk Score (MRS) together with the associated workflow and governance processes.
Identify opportunities to connect and optimize current Operational Risk programs to gain further efficiencies, effectiveness, and value creation to the business through discovery and stakeholder engagement.
Technical Data, Learning Material and Management Systems – Knowledge Management
Coordinate technical content and knowledge management processes.
Create, update, and manage operational risk program related documentation (e.g., training materials, guidance, tools, and templates, etc.); applying appropriate rigor to ensure global program consistency and quality.
Be responsible for ensuring easy access and upkeep of digital platforms for the storage and retrieval of standards, information, tools or other relevant content to support ORM partners.
Manage the information change management process and coordinate with subject matter experts to facilitate the updates and document control for Technical Standards.
Propose and develop program materials and information across all platforms.
Facilitate individual and group communications to promote program awareness in all available digital formats.
Maintain ORM knowledge management and communication materials.
Stakeholder Engagement & Stewardship – Engagement
Support Associates across all Mars locations and functions to manage critical program requirements including compliance tracking and recommendation follow-up.
Participate in key meetings and discussions with principal responsibility for the associated program related data and record management.
Business Intelligence – Create Value
Monitor ORM priorities in conjunction with Mars Global and Segment strategic activities and associated priorities.
Monitor ORM emerging trends and best practice to establish a routine summary for update to functional owners for periodic, quarterly, and annual stewardship reporting.
Develop ORM program business intelligence in conjunction with the Risk, Data & Analytics (RD&A) Team to provide new insights by identifying commonality, new and emerging trends, improved risk quantification, post loss analysis.
Resource Management – Efficiency
Support vendor renewals processes and ORM consulting resource management.
Be responsible for coordination with service providers / third party business partners to ensure compliance and continuing alignment with overall ORM framework and objectives.
Track resource management SLA’s and KPI’s to ensure effective tracking of all aspects of product development and deployment of services.
Manage reoccurring and annual budget process within the function and to be responsible for ensuring budgets are submitted, reviewed, comply with processes and deadlines.
