About Children’s Minnesota

Children’s Minnesota is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. An independent and not-for-profit system since 1924, Children’s Minnesota is one system serving kids throughout the Upper Midwest at two free-standing hospitals, nine primary care clinics, multiple specialty clinics and seven rehabilitation sites. As The Kids Experts™ in our region, Children’s Minnesota is regularly ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a top children’s hospital. Find us on Facebook @childrensminnesota or on Twitter and Instagram @childrensmn.

Children’s Minnesota is proud to be recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of 2023’s Top Diversity Leaders. The national honor recognizes the top diverse healthcare executives and organizations influencing public policy, care delivery, and promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in their organizations and the industry.

We are seeking a Pediatric Clinical Geneticist with training and/or experience in Biochemical Genetics to join our dynamic genetics program. Be part of our expanding team of four geneticists, (three of whom are biochemical geneticists), along with team of nurses and genetic counselors. Collaborate with our multi-disciplinary teams including dedicated specialists in Neonatology, Immunology, Hematology/Oncology, Cardiology, Otolaryngology, Neuroscience and Critical Care.

The Children’s Minnesota Genetics Program is one of the largest in the region, providing more than 2,000 patient visits and consultations per year to children and teens from the Upper Midwest. We have the only genetics program in Minnesota with a focus on diagnosis and clinical care of pediatric patients and childhood conditions. We also provide genetic counseling and genetic testing to adult relatives. Genetics providers have the opportunity to participate in several new healthcare initiatives, including delivery of care via Telemedicine, Genomics Medicine Clinic, and Pharmacogenetic consultations.

Qualifications:

o Board-eligible/certified in Clinical Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics.

o Clinical experience or board certification/eligibility in medical or clinical biochemical genetics is preferred, as successful applicants should be comfortable caring for patients with inborn errors of metabolism as well as general genetic diagnoses.

o Eligible for a Minnesota medical license and will need credentialing with several area hospitals that the Genetics service provides care for.

We offer a competitive compensation package including a base salary with incentive pay opportunities. Benefits package includes malpractice, health, dental, disability coverage, retirement plans, solid vacation and CME package and more!
