The Amazon SCOT organization is expanding our Direct Fulfillment (DF) team. The Direct Fulfillment channel allows Amazon to fulfill customer orders directly from our vendor’s warehouse, and is one of the fastest growing supply channels at Amazon. Through Direct Fulfillment (a.k.a dropship), our team enables broad in-stock selection for Amazon’s customers, at the quality and speed of delivery they have come to expect.

We are seeking a dynamic Principal Program Manager for the DF Ship Cost Optimization team. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead efforts to optimize and reduce ship cost while prioritizing fast and on-time delivery. Ideal candidates thrive on tackling intricate systems, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and distilling complex data and processes into clear, actionable strategies and programs.

Key job responsibilities
Act as the Single Thread Leader (STL) for the DF Ship Cost optimization space, owning communication to senior leadership

Identify transportation cost reduction opportunities, which involves owning projects from beginning to end: producing the analysis to understand the problem, convening a cross-functional team to resolve it, and monitoring the improvements you produce

Own and lead monthly/quarterly business reviews and updates related to ship cost

Identify drivers for cost fluctuations and anomalies through data modeling, develop projects to eliminate defect and optimize cost, enable business to make key trade-offs related to Ship Cost and Speed of delivery

Understand transportation systems and operational needs; identify, deep dive, and resolve issues surfaced through data and anecdotal input from vendors or stakeholders

Work with Direct Fulfillment colleagues in Business Development, Account Management, Ops, Product, Tech as well as Amazon internal carriers to build processes and tools to enable scalable and flexible operations and drive growth towards program goals

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 7+ years of program or project management experience
- 7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
