We are looking for a Principal Risk Manager, AHS Billing Compliance, to join us on our journey to make it drastically easier for customers to find, choose, afford, and engage with the services, products, and professionals they need to get and stay healthy!

This leader reports to the Amazon Health Services (AHS) Director of Billing Compliance and is tasked with developing and managing pan AHS Billing Compliance programs. This role will execute on the short- and long-term strategy and vision for ensuring the compliant submissions of medical and pharmacy claims. They will also be the liaison between the various business product lines and the Billing Compliance organization. The opportunity will be complex as it requires the development and continuous improvement of unified compliance guidance and billing policies that can be leveraged across all AHS business lines.


Key job responsibilities
• Customer obsession: Serve as an advocate for patients, working backwards to elevate the patient experience while simultaneously submitting clean and accurate claims for payment.
• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the strategic vision for billing compliance initiatives aligned with the company's mission and goals, including gap analysis and identifying opportunities.
• Program Management: Design, implement, and oversee new initiatives to ensure that claim submission is compliant with Federal and State requirements.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Drives strategic communications internally and externally to embed billing requirements at the start of new product launches.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards, ensuring the organization's adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks to billing compliance and develop proactive strategies to mitigate those risks across all aspects of AHS healthcare operations.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics to assess performance metrics, identify trends, and generate reports to guide decision-making processes for areas in need of billing enhancements.
• Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, conduct training programs, and foster a culture of compliance.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead and support quality improvement projects, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to drive continuous enhancements in billing compliance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in business or related healthcare field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in billing compliance, revenue cycle management or accounts receivables.
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, Federal and State billing requirements and reconciliation best in class standards.
• Adept at working with multiple stakeholders and demonstrates the ability to gain alignment on approach by defining business sustainable solutions.
• Able to see around corners and make trade-offs in complex situations.
• Works well in ambiguous situations and removes complexity through scalable technology solutions.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to drive change, influence stakeholders, and foster a culture of compliance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in a healthcare related field.
Certification in Healthcare Compliance

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $214,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
