Project Manager - Insurance
Role Description:
Direct management and accountability for the scope, schedule, delivery quality resource and budget requirements of assigned project(s). The PM/Scrum Master will lead a variety of different types of projects supporting our Retail Annuities team, from initial proofs of concept to enhancements to critical our systems currently in use. The PM/Scrum Master is responsible for the overall management of the project lifecycle utilizing our methods, tools, and templates and compliance with the our Technology Delivery Lifecycle governance model. This position will plan and manage large enterprise-wide projects of high risk and complexity.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for driving business outcomes; medium and large scale, complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders and matrix partners with focus on strategic initiatives improving underwriting processes.
Manage complex, cross technology application projects.
Manage project risks and mitigation or contingency plans. Identify program impediments and address them with appropriate urgency and escalation. Lead cross-functional meetings and foster teamwork, drive escalation and resolution of issues.
o Monitors project progress to ensure accordance with goals, schedules, and budget.
o Follows approved TDLC and project management methodologies (Agile & Waterfall), ensuring that all required steps are followed, all required deliverables are produced, and all approvals are obtained.
Leads project team to deliver business and technical objectives on-time and within budget.
Partners with the business relationship manager and portfolio manager to optimize the delivery.
o Act as gate keeper to ensure that all project and gating milestone / deliverables meet within TDLC framework.
Manage relationship with project stakeholders, including internal and external clients, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and issues to manage expectations on all project requirements and deliverables.
o Orchestrates and prepares stakeholder status meetings (e.g. steering committee, weekly status depending on project)
o Coordinates and reports on project progress and accomplishments.

Qualification:
Executive presence with high business EQ
Experience in facilitation/moderation of large-scale workshops or meetings.
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred but not required.
CSM, SSM or PSM certification required.
3+ years of Project Management or Scrum Master experience
Prior experience in software development as an analyst, tester, developer
Has been accountable for delivery of projects up to $1 million.
