Fitch Group is currently seeking a Public Finance & Global Infrastructure Group (GIG) Data Specialist based out of our London office.

The Data Specialist role will work alongside other Data Specialists in overseeing the collection of fundamental data via centralized document sourcing, data entry and quality control functions; and will work extensively with other Data Ops teams, Fitch Ratings analytical staff and Fitch Solutions Product Owners to assure the quality of the data collected.
The Data Specialist will be a key component of the initiative to centralize, streamline and accelerate the capture/ collection of fundamental data. This role will be highly influential in helping to define the collection methodology, to ensure it meets the current and future needs of Fitch’s credit ratings analysts and products workflow.

We’ll Count on You To:
Ensure highest levels of data quality for all Public Finance and GIG sectors, checking data has been correctly processed by analysts and providing feedback as required
Identify trends where similar fundamental data points may be treated differently across jurisdictions, and working closely with analytical teams to build consensus to reach an agreed standardised approach
Document methodologies on how various fundamental data points are defined, can be identified in financial statements, and should be captured in Fitch standardised data templates
Provide training and ongoing support to outsource teams capturing fundamental data, as well as handling exceptions in order to support consistently high data quality
Assist in the creation of key management reporting on a monthly basis, presenting results to stakeholders on a quarterly basis.
What You Need to Have:
Experience of working with public finance data, in an accountancy, auditing, counterparty credit risk environment, with an understanding of IFRS, GAAP & wider accounting fundamental processes
A strong leader with the ability to inspire others within a team environment
A CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CFA qualified or part qualified candidate would be preferred
To be a self-starter who can pick up new processes quickly and accurately,
Have a can-do attitude to problems
