Coordinates the referral laboratory process and facilitates the workflow in and out of the laboratory. With extensive attention to detail, works cooperatively with all hospital and laboratory staff, and external clients through verbal and written communications in order to resolve problems, exchange information, receive instructions, establish protocols, and process information concerning patient specimens. Conducts pre-analytical specimen preparation through centrifugation, aliquotting, storing, packaging and shipping prior to distribution to appropriate laboratories. Works collaboratively with staff regarding specimen collection, handling and shipping of diagnostic and research specimens.
*High school diploma or equivalent AND two to three years of experience in a laboratory or hospital setting required
*Previous customer service experience preferred
