Description:

Fitch Group is currently seeking a legal Counsel to manage certain legal matters in relation to Fitch Group’s business operations in North America. This role reports to one of Fitch Group’s Deputy General Counsels.

We’ll Count on You To Provide Legal Support for:

Regulatory matters, including assisting with regulatory submissions and regulatory inquiries, responding to routine regulatory interpretation questions
Dodd Frank Internal Controls Attestation program, including the preparation of Management Reports/statements regarding internal controls for SEC submission and minutes of internal controls meetings
Global DEI Council, including coordinating research globally on DEI matters
Corporate meetings assistance (e.g. preparing Board Resolutions and minutes)
Accounting/Finance teams
Assisting with Insurance placement and policies for Fitch Group
Managing the Litigation Docket and assisting with routine litigation work (e.g. document productions)
Subpoena productions, issuing Legal Hold notices, gathering and reviewing responsive agreements/documents/correspondence
Legal review of training materials


What You Need to Have:

Financial Services regulation and/or litigation experience
Admitted Attorney in a US state or equivalent jurisdiction
At least 5 years of post-admission relevant experience in private practice or working in-house at a financial services institution
Fluency in English is required


What Would Make You Stand Out:

Experience in a multinational organization preferred
Experience in capital markets related legal support preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Organized with good attention to details
Ability to exercise sound judgement and escalate issues appropriately
Strong team player, collaborative and flexible approach required
Excellent ability to multi-task/work efficiently
Experience in directly interacting with regulators an advantage

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $185,000 and $210,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
