What You’ll Do
Overall management and leadership of the security team programs through development and implementation. As the Head of Security, is responsible for the physical security operations and planning across all SSI locations. This will include growing a high-performance security team that understands how to deliver security services within the Samsung environment. Establishing strong security programs, processes, and services. The Head of security will lead a proactive effort to identify and address risks to the company.
Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose, CA headquarters 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.

Principle Functions:
Accountable for comprehensive physical security strategy including all resource and fiscal management of associated project portfolio.
Develop strategic roadmap and implement standard security operations and protocols to protect personnel and physical assets.
Effectively communicate strategic physical security policies, procedures, and goals to both internal and external executive level stakeholders.
Build a coalition of internal partners to create and test new security strategies that enable the business, meet current and anticipated compliance requirements, and maintain efficiency through alignment with existing programs.
Partner with local, state, federal, and international agencies to establish and maintain relationships and communications about physical security and incident management.
Modernized security policies to align with company values, reduce risk, adapt to industry best practices, and comply with customer requirements.
Develop and implement the overall strategy for security design including, but not limited to, access control, perimeter defense, intrusion detection, alarms, analytics, and surveillance systems.
Partner with internal stakeholders to draft new security policies that incorporate greater oversight and clearer direction and support the global operations.
Identify and implement new technologies to improve security staffing and cost efficiencies across all sites.
Oversee timely and professional response to security incidents and investigations.
Develop and implement comprehensive physical security solutions ahead of evolving compliance requirements to support strategic business goals.
Serve as the organization’s physical security subject matter expert both to internal and external audiences.
Responsible for administering the implementation of all safety and security programs and initiatives to ensure the safety of employees and visitors.
Develop and deliver outstanding guest service programs including safe work practice promotion, OSHA compliance, safety incentive programs, system use, badging, etc. adhering to federal, state, and local standards.
Work with project management in building capital and operational plans, including security budget management.
Oversee and responsible for vendor management, vendor relationship, contracts, invoice management, planning, and execution.
Work cross-functionally with other support teams in selecting service or product providers such as the bidding process with Procurement.
Utilize systems and technology to provide service to employees and present metrics to drive discussion on utilization and optimization.
Manage all aspects of assets, supplies, insurance, vehicle, and equipment.
Direct and lead investigations of accidents, thefts, property loss, and unlawful activities.
Direct response to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies, and threats to life and/or property.
Manage projects and programs as assigned.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with 5-10+ years of relevant experience.
At least fifteen years of relevant experience with at least five years of management experience, with a proven leadership track leading internal and vendor security teams.
Extensive knowledge in the security operations management field and the advanced ability to design, develop, manage and evaluate programs.
Familiarity with facilities and office services functions in a workplace department preferred.
Ability to develop and document programs and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors or masters in related field.
ASIS affiliation, certifications a plus.
Experience in technology environment a plus.
Strong understanding of security systems, including access control systems, video surveillance systems and alarms.
Experienced communicator with excellent influencing skills and a proven track record of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communications, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service.
Knowledge and experience in managing, investigations, threats and WPV programs.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
Work well under pressure and within time constraints.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to build relationships with both internal and external customers.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
