Position Summary
As a member of the Global IT Applications team, the Senior Applications Systems Analyst proactively partners with stakeholders to understand their business objectives, operating model and processes. Applying this business knowledge, the role identifies areas where efficiency and productivity could be improved by redesigning business processes and technology solutions for global manufacturing sites.

The Senior Applications Systems Analyst acts as a consultant to stakeholders, IT teams, external service providers and vendors to ensure effective definition of and delivery of business solutions that are adopted by users. Essential responsibilities include managing relationships, communications, business process development and analysis, data analysis, requirements definition, solution configuration, documentation and training.

Position Responsibilities
Develop and manage relationships with business stakeholders and IT partners.
Participate in regular meetings with business SMEs, regional BSAs, and applications support team to understand operational model, processes and business priorities.
Work with cross-functional teams to design or re-engineer business processes and take ownership of their translation into design specifications, implementation and transition to operations.
Maintain strong connections with vendors to research new products and assess impact on application stack/architecture/support.
Advise business owners on policies and procedures governing the use of manufacturing and RC applications.
Work with key business users to identify issues and opportunities with systems and business processes.
Facilitate the collection, documentation and prioritization of business requirements.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve manufacturing and RC applications business processes and user experience.
Collaborate with other technical staff, contractors and external parties to transition from functional business requirements through design to implementation.
Support solution identification and acquisition processes (through RFI, RFP, evaluation, reviews etc.).
Establish measures to ensure achievement of anticipated outcomes from business solutions.
Leverage regional assets (system elements, processes, data and reports) in a global way to reduce duplication of effort world-wide.
Assist in defining project scope and activities.
Contribute to global projects. This may include: partnering with team members to solution business needs and gain alignment on the delivery of assigned projects (specific responsibilities may include business case development, requirements analysis, solution configuration and testing, design of system integrations, reports); preparing training materials; delivering training to end users; completing documentation for transition from project to operational support; preparing economic analysis of projects.
Manage and perform systems designs, implementations, upgrades and configuration changes of manufacturing and RC applications.
Maintain cognizance of industry trends and new products to evaluate opportunities for achieving maximum effective use of company investment in information technology.
Develop and implement maintenance procedures, monitor systems health, gather system statistics for manufacturing and RC applications.
Implement best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance, and system performance.
Work with support teams to maintain and improve systems integrity, stability and performance.
Support manufacturing and RC applications through root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
Ensure technical solutions for business cases are designed, developed, tested, implemented.
Develop, review and execute change technical implementation plans.
Technical specifications documentations for business solutions.
Maintain system documentation and ensure changes to solutions follow the Methanex global applications Management of Change process.
Develop and execute quality management plans for systems’ implementations, upgrades and changes.
Oversee and perform all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
Providing QA services and coordination.
Technical and functional documentation review and ensure users’ requirements are met with effective and up to date design.
Packages migration quality assurance between environments.
Define testing procedures and develop test cases to serve the overall quality assurance process.
Execute QA plans and test cases, and test procedures.
Support migration of configurations’ packages into systems’ environments and perform Smoke Testing to avoid post-migration issues.
Submit QA reports.
Develop and execute roadmaps and strategies to enable BI, AI and IOT.
Build and manage data warehouse, data models, reports, KPIs and dashboards.
Big data and asset analytics.

Position Qualifications
University qualification in Business, Information Technology or a related field.
IIBA certification and non-IT business experience (Engineering, Health and Safety, Information Management, etc.), is an asset.
5+ years of experience in Reporting and Analytics, Business Analysis, IT systems development and/or operations.
Familiar with the following disciplines: project management, business analysis, governance, change management, incident management, disaster recovery and testing.
Previous work experience in manufacturing plants and manufacturing applications (ex. Maximo, SAP, PI, Meridian, etc.).
Proven track record of designing or re-engineering business processes and implementing IT solutions using internal and external resources.
Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft applications including Power BI.
Knowledge of developing requirements and functional specifications for use by systems developers.
Knowledge of using SQL scripts, programming languages, systems design and report development.
Excellent communications skills to interface with internal and external, technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience facilitating meetings and workshops e.g., requirements definition, etc.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, administrative and organisational skills.
Strong team player with the ability to take initiative and be proactive when resolving customer issues.
Experience working with global teams in a multi-disciplined/ multi-functional team environment.
