About Cognizant’s Digital Engineering Practice:

At Cognizant Digital Engineering, a small cross functional team comprised of a Product Manager, an Architect, Full-Stack Developers, UI/UX designers and Big Data analysts builds higher quality software faster siloed individuals working independently. Small, nimble engineering teams generate collective empathy and comradery, thus increasing their ability to anticipate unforeseen development scope changes and maintain high quality deliverables. Across our US Studio system or within client development sites, our Digital Engineering teams ideate and develop innovative cloud-based solutions following a Lean-Agile process with DevOps culture. Working in Cognizant Digital Engineering provides DevOps engineers consistent opportunities to push digital boundaries while growing their exposure to transformational technologies.

The Role:

Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative Senior DevOps Architect with 17-20 years of relevant experience to serve our diverse base of global clients. As a member of our team, you will build cutting edge, cloud-based software that powers modern business. An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a diverse, collaborative, geographically distributed team. Similarly, the ideal candidate is an expert engineer who values the “team”, drives continuous improvement and is unafraid to challenge the legacy status quo with creative cloud-based solutions.

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota (Remote)

Responsibilities:

Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive DevOps strategies to support enterprise-level applications
Design and oversee the integration of DevOps tools and practices enhancing automation deployment and monitoring capabilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless and efficient deployment of microservices architecture
Drive continuous improvement initiatives identifying and implementing best practices in DevOps and microservices
Acts as a change agent who helps set the vision, show the way, and provide thought leadership on removing impediments to DevSecOps success
Coaches and mentors sprint team resources at either the team and/or program levels, including Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Technical Leads and executives to leverage DevSecOps principles, engineering practices and frameworks to deliver high value business capabilities
Helps to coach the team on product management, design thinking, engineering culture, and DevSecOps
Serves as a subject matter expert on scaling DevSecOps development, embraces servant leadership, understands engineering practices and serves as a role model for the team to model DevSecOps behaviors and mindsets, which includes key mindset shifts in the journey to vulnerability management
Performs evaluations, and reviews of processes and methodologies
Identifies strengths and continuous improvement recommendations of existing security processes
Monitor industry trends and advancements in DevOps and microservices evaluating and adopting new tools and technologies as appropriate.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that align with company objectives.
Manage the documentation of DevOps processes and configurations ensuring clarity and consistency across teams.
Expertise in a wide range of DevOps tools and technologies with a focus on automation CI/CD and monitoring is essential

Required Skills:

17-20 yrs of relevant experience in Information Technology environment
Experience in developing applications securely using Java.
Knowledge of CI/CD, Java, Python, .NET, GoLang & JavaScript Frameworks Java, .NET, Python, Node, BlackDuck (open source) remediation or Skny or any other open source scanning tool, Fortify Scanning, CVEs, DevOps
Professional Coaching certification, or equivalent work experience
Any Security certifications, or equivalent work experience
Security policy creation and automation
Threat modeling
Access & Controls
Threat modeling
Encryption
Vulnerability triaging, prioritization, and remediation for the cloud.
Managing compliance violations
Security policy creation and automation
Solving loosely defined problems
Familiarity with developer day-to-day ecosystems
Working knowledge of system development lifecycle (SDLC) and process change/improvement

The annual salary for this position is between $120,000– $167,300 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
