8+ years of experience designing, developing, and shipping high quality software at scale
5+ years of engineering people management experience including 3+ years as a manager of managers
Experience building engineering systems for internal and external use and driving engineering strategy and long-term roadmap, taking into account organization design and scaling teams sustainably
Deep experience running distributed systems, cloud services and driving operational excellence

You will own the strategic management of the department, representing the engineering systems to external and internal partners and driving major decisions that enable engineers at GitHub to be even more productive and set the example for the world on how to build and ship software using GitHub
