Your responsibilities
Senior Paint Process Engineer positions offered by ABB Inc. (Auburn Hills, MI). Responsible for application, installation, contractor oversight, startup support, and optimization for new systems and retrofits to existing systems. Responsible for programing robot paths, validating simulations, and commissioning all peripheral paint equipment. Commissioning, installing, and debugging paint application equipment. Responsible for setting up and atomizing paint using rotary atomization bell and air atomization guns. Responsible for color matching, checking film builds, and diagnosing appearance and smoothness. Disassemble, assemble, and repair paint application.
Your background
Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience in the position offered or 5 years of experience using robotic paint applications including color matching, checking film builds and diagnosing appearance and smoothness. Also requires 5 years of experience: disassembling, assembling, and repairing robotic paint applications; and commissioning, installing, and debugging robotic paint application equipment. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience as stated, employer will accept 8 years of experience as stated. Requires domestic and international travel up to 85% Position reports to office in Auburn Hills, MI, but may telecommute from anywhere within the US. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
