In this role, you will have a direct impact on the management and monetization of Nokia’s world class Multimedia patent portfolio.
A representative list, but not exhaustive, of the main responsibility areas include:
Provide technical opinion and perform prior-art search and validity analysis on patents in multimedia technology areas, with a focus on video compression.
Prepare claim charts.
Participate in technical licensing discussions, present claim charts to potential licensees and defend against counter arguments.
Prosecute selected patent families relevant to licensing and litigation programs.
Assist in patent litigation activities.
REQUIRED SKILLS
You have:
Expertise in video compression codecs (e.g. H.26X, AV1, or VP9).
Several years of experience in patent prosecution and/or technical analysis.
Experience in reviewing patent applications and generating claim charts.
Excellent communication, writing, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
It would be nice if you also had:
PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar area.
Qualified as an EP patent attorney.
Attendance and contribution to MPEG and JVET standardization meetings.
