As a Senior Project Engineer Die Casting, you will drive improvements in production of Motion NEMA Motors in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

You will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing production processes, with a focus on project management and helping develop Manufacturing Engineers into successful project managers.

This position reports to
Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Your responsibilities
Lead the project team, establish the project execution approach and oversee project hand over, execution planning and monitoring and control activities for both internal and external resources in order to accomplish all project goals, coaching and providing performance feedback for project staff
Actively contribute to continuous improvement by adopting external best practices, conducting project reviews, competency assessments and seeking both internal and external improvement opportunities, while actively participating in groups within ABB
Support local Management team and take actions to close potential gaps in project execution capacity
Ensure that the project follows execution best practices and ABB policies, effectively monitoring and controlling project progress and efficient resource utilization
Monitor project financials, managing risks, capturing and sharing lessons learned and driving formal project acceptance and contract close out while ensuring customer acknowledgment in accordance with the contract
Ensure project compliance with company health, safety and environmental policies, create HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) plans, implement common HSE policies and reporting across the project, collaborate with partners and sub suppliers and take unique actions to enhance site safety and maintain consistent HSE performance
Lead project recovery efforts, conducting rapid assessments of troubled projects and providing support, offering specific recommendation for remediation
Prepares RFQs (Request for quotations) to meet contractual requirements and provides technical evaluation of suppliers proposals
Expertly define and apply advanced project scheduling techniques to proactively manage schedule risks, utilize the earned value method to optimize the schedule's critical path and project float, consistently employ schedule management as the primary tool for large projects, continually drive planning and scheduling improvement, manage Project Planning and Control Specialists (if applicable) to forecast bottlenecks in advance and effectively plan, track and follow up on document deliverables in accordance with the contractual scope of work
Your background
Bachelor Degree in Engineering with minimum 5 years of experience.
5 to 8 years of Project Management experience - Preferred
PMP Certification or willingness to achieve
Six Sigma Green Belt or willingness to achieve
Additional Preferred Experience: Lean Certification -
BUS (Baldor Unified System) / SAP Experience - Microsoft Project - AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Experience leading teams of subject matter experts to develop complete scopes and RFQ’s
Experience with Capex justifications and planning
Must be innovative with the ability to work with cross functional groups to implement improvements
Strong knowledge in manufacturing principles
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
