Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Environmental & Facilities Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Senior Project Engineer!
The primary responsibility of this role is to manage construction projects (expansions, renovations, greenfield, etc.) at our North American manufacturing sites, Research & Development Sites, and Logistics & Distribution sites.
Reporting to the Manager of Facility Projects, you will support the Environmental & Facilities department's objective to provide project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects are designed and built to quality, cost, schedule and safety KPIs for North American manufacturing sites, Research & Development Sites and Logistics and Distribution sites.
What you’ll be doing
Project Leader for the new Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina greenfield construction project.
Develop criteria (mechanical, electrical, fire protection, civil/structural, etc.) for design of buildings.
Provide technical support to North American Manufacturing plants in the areas of building design and construction, including development and maintaining of building related standards.
Act as Subject Matter Expert for industrial buildings and building related systems as technical support for local facility groups at each site as well as for submittals during project management.
Provide experience in plant planning project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects are designed and built to quality, cost, schedule and safety KPIs.
Mentor engineers, construction coordinators, and other project personnel to increase their skillset in industrial construction.
Create Customer Satisfaction with proper communication and consensus with customer to support their needs.
What you bring
Bachelor of Science in Engineering - Mechanical, Civil, or Structural preferred.
Proven years of experience in building design and construction.
Proven years of experience in industrial buildings and building related systems.
Proven years of experience in project management of industrial construction projects, particularly with value of $20M+ preferred.
Experience with people management (e.g., vendors, suppliers, etc.)
Intermediate level experience with applicable software systems such as AutoCAD, Visio, etc.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Power-Point, Word, Outlook).
Ability to work up to 20% overtime.
Ability to travel up to 75% both domestically, and occasionally internationally.
Added bonus if you have
Professional Engineering (PE) License.
Proven experience in industrial mechanical systems (piping, chilled water, compressed air, etc.).
Proven experience in industrial power systems (switchgear, power distribution systems, 480VAC and higher).
Proven experience in industrial structural steel systems.
Experience in large scale civil installations
Knowledge and experience working with Excel spreadsheets and databases.
Good verbal and communication skills.
Fundamental skills of problem solving and desire to improve/kaizen.
Good organization skills.
