Senior Sales Support Engineer – Electrical Solution

As the Senior Sales Support Engineer within the Energy industry, you will be responsible for driving the Offshore substation (OSS) and Electrical solution portfolio of the business. The successful candidate will be solution-oriented engineer and love working on complex projects, driving innovative technical solutions to our customers.

The primary focus of this role will be to work together with the sales organization in preparing and presenting OSS and Electrical technical solutions for the Energy Industry (FPSO, Wind Offshore, Petrochemical Industries etc) customers. In this role you will also be supported with technical drafting of solutions by our team of engineers.

Reporting to the Sales Support Manager, you need to act as innovator to address technical solutions and offerings for new emerging market conditions like Energy transition.

The position is based in Malaysia.

Your responsibilities
Leading the virtual team to prepare technical and commercial solutions for electrifications (HV GIS, HV Power Transformer, MV and LV Switchgear, MV & LV Drives, DC&UPS, Bus duct, cabling system, Protection System, Current Limiter, NGR) solution
Preparing technical and commercial bid for offshore wind substation (OSS) including HV GIS and large power transformer
Following the ABB defined sales and bid process
Working with your sales colleagues to help grow ABB energy industry business
Providing technical support on electrification solutions to as required
Preparing Digital Solution for Electrical Assets and attend customer sites with sales colleagues, conducting technical presentations for our customers
Participating in the order negotiation and finalization
Actively supporting sales colleagues to achieve the local division order booking budget
Project handover to operation in-line with ABB defined processes
Your background
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or relevant qualification
Previous design engineering experience (ideally in electrical system design including system study, Electrical room layout design, SLD design, Cable system design, DC& UPS sizing)
Experience and knowledge of HV GIS and large power transformer, offshore wind projects including power distribution network design & equipment sizing & selection is essential
Experience in substation design, basic HVAC design, Structural design, Offshore substation solution (offshore class rules like ABS, DNV) would be advantageous
Experience in developing strong customer and internal relationships locally and globally and working in a wide variety of cultures and sectors
Motivated and eager to learn as you will provided with the opportunity to learn ABB’s Digital platform for monitoring of Electrical assets, along with other exciting learning opportunities
