Role Description & Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of engineering activities and personnel within the Network and Services team related to Voice, Mobile and Video services activities with the objective of providing efficient, cost effective and differentiated network services and solution offered to customers and ensuring all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes under purview are in conformance with organization's policies, procedures, budgets, and objectives.
The team identifies key engineering initiatives based on customer requirements, network requirements, new applications and services and assesses the technical/infrastructure feasibility with the products team.
Also responsible for product evaluation, solution designing and testing and roll out plan for existing and new services, including design of tools needed for operation of these new services and systems for performance and capacity management. Evaluate vendors for outsourcing requirements.
Define resolution mechanism to prevent recurrence of escalations.
Discuss requirements with Product groups, in conjunction with Sales teams, for complex requirements and provide inputs around feasibility of solution and solution alternatives.
The function engages with regulatory bodies like TRAI to monitor and discuss compliances and requirements for existing and new services.
Conduct testing of design and report issues encountered during testing to the supervisor. May lead important projects as a team leader or individual contributor that require providing experienced project team members with instruction, guidance and advice in all aspects of the project to ensure delivery of quality outcomes.
Responsible to lead/manage small teams for small projects. Capable of identifying key issues and priorities and focusing on these to deliver required results with minimal direction and supervision.
Track the deliverables along with timelines and drive for closure with the support of Product & CFT teams involved.
Reporting the weekly/monthly/annual status of the ongoing/completed engineering activities to senior management.
Support the delivery & operation teams in new product implementations and troubleshooting the unique problems and ensure to train the teams with necessary knowledge to handle independently.
Technical Skills required
Experience in network implementations/operations/tac/engineering and data center is preferred.
Hands on experience in handling multi-vendor products and network gears like routers, switches, firewall, wireless controllers, access points, etc.
Good knowledge & Experience working in Cisco SD-Access solutions including DNAC, ISE, Fabric.
Good knowledge on various OEMs SDN/SD-LAN/SD-Branch platforms & solutions.
Good knowledge & Experience working in On-premise & Cloud managed WIFI platforms like Cisco Classic, Cisco Meraki, Juniper Mist, HPE Aruba, Fortinet etc..
Knowledge on Data center technologies like ACI will be preferred
Experience in Cisco Nexus switching and technologies around that is needed.
Cloud architecture knowledge such as Azure, AWS, GCP will be added advantage. Routing protocols knowledge expected - BGP, OSPF
Switching - Enterprise and Data Center switching technologies.
Knowledge on QOS, Multicast is preferred.
MPLS and VPN technologies (L3/L2 VPN) understanding is good to have.
Experience in handling/integration of network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, Zabbix, etc with ITSM services(Incident, Change, Problem Management, etc) for auto ticketing.
Knowledge on automation tools/technologies such as Python, API, etc.
