Product Test Engineers (PTEs) are the first line of defense when it comes to troubleshooting day to day issues with products and test assets. They are the interface between Operations and Development engineering to ensure products correctly run through factories with a focus on ensuring product test solutions perform in their ability to test products and ensure programs achieve customer delivery requirements. SFFS PTEs will work on modules, boards and box level products using electrical, mechanical and software skills to identify any issues with products under production test and report these findings back to programs to be addressed before the product is released. The SFFS PTE provides independent reviews and analysis of product performance. Individuals in this role will directly support SFFS Factory Teams through detailed test data analysis and troubleshooting tasks to understand root cause of product test failures throughout the production value stream. The SFFS PTE will facilitate yield improvements, manufacturing advancements, and design efficiencies through collaboration with cross-functional teams including Process Engineering and Program Engineering.
The SFFS Senior Product Test Engineer is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and technical leader role for the Operation’s Product Test Engineering Team. Individuals in this role will be the Point of Contact (POC) between factories and programs to ensure programs meet and achieve customer delivery requirements.
Senior Product Test Engineers will receive directions from the factory Leadership team such as product line test manager (PTLM) and Product Stream Manager (PSM). Lead teams of Product Test Engineering Assistants (PTEAs) and junior Product Test Engineers to perform identification and troubleshooting root causes of product failures during production test events, develop production test solutions to resolve production test failure trends and support product development programs with transitioning new production test solutions into factories and providing support for product returns from the field.
