BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

DESCRIPTION
Incentivized Basket Building team in Promotions org is looking for a Sr. Software Development Engineer to build features that will drive Amazon's goal of reducing cost to serve to our customers by increase shipping consolidation.

The IBB team is focussed on building solutions that can drive shipping consolidation. As a member of the IBB team, you'll work alongside outstanding engineers and leaders, refine product requirements with product and program management, define architecture, and be a leader in the implementation and launch of new features to incentivize customer to build basket to increase shipping consolidation and reduce the cost to serve.

All team members actively participate in product definition, technical architecture review, iterative development, code review, and operations.

Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be clearly passionate about start-up opportunities, and have a demonstrated track record of success delivering new features or products. This person has thrived and succeeded in delivering high-quality technology products/services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift fast. He or she has strong OO design and implementation experience with knowledge of web services and cloud architecture.

As a key member of the engineering team, you will have influence on our product strategy by helping define the product features, refine system architecture, and spearhead best practices that enable a quality product.

You should enjoy working on complex system software, is customer-centric, and feels strongly about building good software as well as making that software achieve its operational goals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
