The Studio Engineer candidate will be responsible for supporting all studio production that is a part of multiple sports properties in North America (Thursday Night Football, NWSL, Monday Night Hockey in Canada and NASCAR.) Duties will include responsibilities for productions that have studio-based elements incorporated into the workflow: traditional studio production, hybrid or REMI style production as well as Live Cloud Production (LCP.)
The role is based at Amazon’s offices on the Culver Studios lot in Culver City, CA.


Key job responsibilities
-Responsible for the operational functionality for all studio-based software and hardware used as part of live sports production as well as all post produced content (media archive and creative editing.) Studio based systems include but are not limited to:
Studio video and audio systems – baseband and IP
IP-based global communication platform
Record devices for media asset archive
Software used in production space (remote connectivity for remote team members)
Edit work stations and media archive systems
-Point of contact in the studio for technical team members on live remotes. Ensures continuity with live remote as needed for live production.
-Create documentation of all workflows and processes with communication to team members as changes happen.
-Deploy all updates as needed to maintain high level of production functionality as well as to ensure compliance with Amazon Security (OpSec) requirements.
-Work with Amazon Web Services to drive efficiencies across all media workflows – especially as Live Cloud Production (LCP) develops.
-Work with other team members to collaborate and align on design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility for possible studio expansion or system replacement.
-Work with Technical Operations management to help develop annual budgets for capital and operational expense

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
-Minimum of 5 - 8 years of live broadcast experience in a studio-based setting

-Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related experience in related work environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Experience with a high stress environment with tight deadlines – flexibility to adapt quickly with changes in production plans

-Clear communication skills – both in written and verbal form – to keep management informed of issues and concerns

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
